"I have attended a course by IPA mid 2022, the course itself/delivery/lectures etc couldn't fault, excellent content etc, but the admin is unbelievably bad. To start off we have been given 3 different names of course coordinators, 2 of which have actually left the IPA and their emails are a bounce back. The 3rd coordinator takes about 2-3 weeks to reply if she replies at all and if she does its only after you have followed up and chased a number of times. We were not made aware of the exam date prior to starting the course and it had clashed with other commitments, which meant that I could not sit the exam in June 2022. To reschedule the exam I had to chase and chase and request a new date a number of times. I have now finally been able to sit the exam in Jan 2023, but now there is no sign of the actual certificate, I have of course chased already, no reply. To anyone who gets reimbursement from their employer for sitting the exam and producing the cert to get it expensed - keep that in mind. As a busy professional I do not have the time to be chasing these things and neither should a paying student have to! So anyone considering doing a course through IPA be prepared for huge delays, lack of communication, being ignored, no clarity and very bad admin and organization."
"What a great place to achieve great knowledge and upgrade your skills. Check out, you won’t regret it."
"The Institute of Public Administration is Ireland’s only public service development agency focused exclusively on public sector development. It has a fantastic reputation and accepts Springboard courses which are an initiative in higher education offering free courses at certificate, degree and masters level. So this is the place I chose to get some qualifications in project management to further my career. As a mature student I was apprehensive about applying for the course. I mean, how would I manage a course around life, and the kids, how would I have time and energy to stick to the assignment deadlines? Well I was instantly put at ease when enquiring and I was felt totally comfortable when talking to the staff. So I jumped, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a fantastic place full of cool vibes and positive energy, the perfect mix of ‘concrete’ and ‘nature’, plus free parking (when you get there early enough in the morning). The coffee flows freely and you get to meet people in the hustle and bustle of the canteen. Throughout the course the lecturers were very professional and made a conscious effort to dumb things down for the less experienced (like me) while teaching the more experienced WITHOUT creating a divide in the class, what an amazing skill that must be. The assignments were not too difficult and were almost always based on real life experience and general common sense. There were a couple of times when life got in the way and I just couldn’t finish the assignments on time, and this was absolutely no problem according to the college, once I kept them updated and was seen to be making an effort to get things done. I’m glad I chose the IPA to do my course, and will definitely choose it when it comes time to do my next one."
