"Staff are friendly (although very visibly busy) but this doesn’t excuse the place looking like it houses more disease than it cures… It’s a run down dump of a place, toilets are not clean either… the NHS should consider revising its middle-heavy hierarchy, laying off some of the redundant overpaid middle management that have settled in a role for life and hire more on the front lines/bottom of the ladder and consider a refurbishment initiative…. So much money wasted in the middle.. Disgusting hospital"
"Can’t rate the NEW Royal enough. For the first time, my partner was able to leave the car at the drop-off spot and walk me into the hospital. Absolutely love the separate rooms per patient. Everything was 100% better. I’m in hospital every 12-months, at the old Royal my anxiety would hit the roof. The new layout, the ability and space for relatives to come with you. It’s really helped me with my treatment. Thank you ."
"I had a very bad experience in this hospital. I came with my husband he was having high fever ,chest congestion, throat pain . We got there in an ambulance ,booked with the GP .sat there for too long and no body else called his name . He was even loosing his consciousness. I've talked to number of nurses there about his severe health condition and nobody helped. It's better to be dead at home than to be in this hospital. Come to India and they will take good care of patients."
"Just been at the ‘new’ Royal Hospital, very refreshing to be finally treated as a person and not just a ‘person with alcohol problems’! But disappointed that I had this patient in front of me (on a trolley in the corridor) who kept reiterating that she’s a nurse! Well guess what love - even nurses get ill! You’re just another human being like us, because she’s a nurse - she expected special treatment, and that’s what she got unfortunately! Got her scan/x Ray before others, well I used to pay out DHSS girocheques, but I certainly wouldn’t expect mine first!!!! She was an absolute pain in the arse, moaning, telling a doctor that they ‘weren’t listening to her’ Unfortunately staff pandered to her, whilst I’m behind (on my trolley) going unnoticed!!! And there were pensioners on trolleys for hours and hours, whilst this no set got special treatment WRONG ON ALL LEVELS! She was down for an x rag within hours, others had been waiting more than a day! Disgusting"
"A fairly poor emergency department, being one of, if not the largest emergency department for Liverpool there was a massive lack of blankets and the building was massively overcrowded, with some people being treated in the corridors. The automatic door was broken (and clearly had been for a while) so staff were required to push it open and closed."
