"Really good venue but the smoking area is too undercover (literally inside)"
"Bouncer was vile. Wouldn’t let my friend in as he said her ID was fake. I explained nicely that it was real and he said, “get out my face”"
"4 huge spacious halls, 2 bars, 2 smoking areas, clean toilets, alcohol sold on premises, kind and respectful staff, strict security/ doormen on premises, violence of any kind isn't tolerated towards staff. The tunnel club is available for all kind of functions, weddings, raves, drum and base, etc."
"Was excellent when it was Eddie's but apparently they are going to focus on dance music going forward which of course is what Birmingham needs. More dance music. Colin the owners statement from fb is quite sad: "Farewell & Goodbye EDDIES Rock Club says Goodnight. I had a meeting with the Tunnel Club and they have informed me that they are focusing on Dance Music going forward and that we are not part of that plan. So, after almost 50 years of DJing (20 years of that in the Coster's) and being in charge of EDDIES for 22 Years, I now have to let you all know that we have come to a Close. We will NOT be opening again (not even for Halloween) and that with immediate effect EDDIES Rock Club is no more. I'd like to 'Thank Everyone' that has ever been involved with us over the years, whether that's a member of staff, a customer or even a band. You were always the reasons we were there, without you we'd never have existed. It's been my pleasure and privilege to have been part of this Family, but I've spent too many years trying to find venues that always let us down and ever since the Fire in 2006, which gave us closure of Edwards No8 (yes, 15 years ago) it was always a hard road to follow and now is the time to retire gracefully. We managed to Rise from the Ashes time and time again.... Not this time I'm afraid. I know this will be a shock for many (maybe a blessing for others), but it's time to say Thanks for the Memories, thank you all, farewell and goodbye. Colin Wall."
