"Great staff and atmosphere, food was excellent as were the drinks, see you again soon"
"We booked an overnight stay on a Saturday evening en route from Calais to the north east of England. We were looking forward to a traditional pub meal and a breakfast the next day as we were tired from our travel from the south of France. Although we arrived at about 7.45pm in good time for an evening meal, we were told we couldn't eat because the chef had left early and closed the kitchen. Later we met the chef drinking at the bar. Then we were told we had to take breakfast at 8am as the pub had a large booking at 9am. As you can imagine, we didn't want to get up so early having just driven about 1500 Km. In the end we had nothing to eat on the Saturday except a packet of crisps. And no breakfast either... Very disappointing service."
"Beautiful village pub with amazing food and super friendly staff! We arrived (family of 5!) to stay overnight a few minutes after the kitchen closing time and they cooked for us without any problem! Amazing ! Everything super clean ! Playground on the back yard!"
"Broke our journey here coming and going. Restful, close to the A1but just off the beaten track enough to feel like a holiday. Nice rooms, plenty of space and ground floor access. Amazing local and the steaks are excellent."
"A proper village pub with friendly staff, great food and comfortable rooms. This pub is clearly at the heart of and involved throughout the village. It was hosting a sunflower growing competition while we were there! We went as a couple but children are also welcome and there's a great play pace for them. Our room was clean and spacious and the bed was super comfy. Highly recommend this pub."
