"Really enjoyed my time at the Beauty Lodge. You would never guess you're in the heart of Wood Green. Upon entering, you're greeted by lovely therapists who ensure your time throughout is at the highest standard. You are given a robe and towel to change into and there are showering facilities. There's a hot tub with jets, a sauna room, a day bed for relaxing as well as very comfortable therapist tables for any beauty/health sessions that you may book. I had an exfoliating cleanse for my back and an Indian head massage. The back cleanse was great and my therapist was thorough and ensured I was relaxed. The head massage that followed was intense. She asked if I minded having my hair oiled for the treatment which is always great to be informed. I said "slather me up" and she put some essential oils on her hands and proceeded to massage my scalp. It honestly was the nicest feeling - we all try to massage our scalp when we wash our hair but it's a whole different ballgame when someone else does it while targeting pressure points and includes part of the shoulder and forehead. I was in heaven, felt so sleepy when I left. Would definitely recommend for couples as an intimate date."

"Full body by Tasha- I had a full body massage done by Tasha, she was absolutely amazing. She made the experience so relaxing and comfortable and her massage is one of the best I ve ever had. Perfect pressure and technique. Thank you so much I will definitely return for more!"

"100% I needed this. It was perfect. Hot tub was amazing and sauna was good. Treatment was good not not as great as I’ve had before. I opted for hot stone which could have been better. But the women were really polite, friendly and respectful. Generally, people working at spas are snooty and stuck up but the staff here are lovely. Will definitely be coming back"

"Me & the girls came for 1 hour spa treatment & 1 hour treatment of choice. Tash d'silva provided one of the best full body exfoliation/massage treatment!!! & Adina Paley provided one of the best Swedish massages we have ever experienced!!! This place is amazing, it is hijabi friendly, the staff are all so sweet & there are several cute cats!!!!! What more do u need?? 10/10 recommended xx"

"The bad experience: My husband consulted the beauty lodge day spa to arrange a treat for my pregnant self and my pregnant sister in law. Both in our third trimesters. He made the staff aware of this when booking. When he told me about this booking I became concerned regarding the temperature of the hot tub and whether they were trained to give massages in pregnancy. So I gave them a call, addressed my concerns and was assured the temperature could be lowered on our arrival and to simply remind the staff. Unfortunately, when we arrived the spa room was so hot it felt like a sauna. We opened all the doors of the room but still were very stuffy, like a sauna. We were advised that the hot tub jets had been turned off due to us being pregnant however, my concern was more so the temperature- the hot tub was VERY hot in thus very humid room!! I felt they should have been competent in addressing the temperature being a concern from the moment my husband rang. There was no way we were going to use their sauna so that was a waste and when we tried using the hot tub with the intention of dipping in and out whilst keeping hydrated, this too failed. After 5-10min of having half our bodies in the hot tub it was evident for our own safety it was best we stayed out. Also, the drinking water provided tasted awful, we don't know why so be sure to take your own. We addressed the temperature with the lady on reception who said she'd find out and then came back and said it would take 48 hours to adjust the temperature. Disappointed with conflicting advice we had received on the phone a couple of days prior, we had no option but to just sit and wait for our massage treatments that were booked. Thankfully, we were taken to another less humid room for our massages and each had our own masseuse. When we addressed the temperature issue to staff there was no real care or remorse. Really, they should be aware of the hot tub and room temperatures ans should definitely not booking spa sessions for pregnant women- they should know better and advise against this ! Had I not been given the assurance over the phone the day before I would have cancelled the spa session. It is unsafe of them and unprofessional to offer conflicting information (regarding the temp). The good experience: the spa itself seems like it has recently been renovated and had a lovely ambience. The lighting, decor, music (at times questionable choice of music -some tracks not so relaxing during massage), were on the whole really nice. I liked that during the massage the lights were off except for lovely smelling candles and a starlit ceiling. The masseuse spoke softly and was brilliant with the massage. Overall, I had a disappointing experience with service and lack of competency/ relaying accurate information regarding pregnancy safety and spa use. This puts me off coming back. I think had the staff apologised, it wouldn't have left me feeling as bitter about the experience and I probably wouldn't think twice about being a regular client. Who knows maybe I'll give them a second chance when I'm no longer pregnant as I would've liked to have a positive experience like I'm sure most ordinary non-pregnant women must have!"
