"Would give this ZERO stars. Whilst I'm a regular visitor at the pizza express in Leicester, tried visiting pizza express at East Midlands outlet. Was 'greeted', if one can even call it that, in a rather unwelcoming fashion at the welcome desk. The restaurant was completely empty, however the lady in glasses took a rather unsightly look at us and rudely showed us the door stating that we could not dine with them unless we had a reservation. I must point out that the restaurant was completely empty. (Do zoom into the image, if you can. Not sure how clear it is.) Very unfriendly staff. Would rather give my custom to other restaurants on the premises. Do not spend money with them, don't think the staff welcome guests from ethnic minorities. Actually feel I would have been treated better otherwise. One can only hope this improves. Won't beentering this premises ever again and shall share my experience with others too."
"Is it now the Pizza Express policy to reduce the amount of food served and increase the cost of it? I know times may be tough but have we reached the point of rashioning, Pizza Express? I couldn't quite belive the ridiculously small portions on our starters and mains when they arrived. A bowl of Nduja linguini which resembled a starter dish was eaten in 5 mouthfulls. Couldn't even see the Nduja sausage, although it was tasty, but being £15, I would have expected a portion befitting the price. A pizza also came as a mains and was also lacking in size and quantity, made even worse by the fact one with a hole in the middle and thin crust had been ordered, again, £15. Starters of kickin doughballs and sundried tomatoes came to £12. We had about 10 sundried tomatoes and 6 tiny doughballs. The dessert was tiny, but we knew this as it was coffee and a small cake combo, so no surprise. The food was tasty. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Service is OK. Its just excrutiating to feel ripped off on portion sizes. This isn't a bespoke Italian restaurant. This is a chain outlet. Why are we paying these crazy prices for simple food like pasta and tomato sauce? £60 for 2 people. 1 hour visit time. Felt hungry soon after."
"Nice location with easy parking, even if your not bothered about doing any shopping. Staff “always” pleasant and food freshly cooked in front of you. Any issues get resolved quickly but very rare. Price wise can be expensive but there are always app offers available. Make sure you get your table number so you can “check in” and make sure all guests register for even greater savings. Definitely recommend this outlet, especially if you have come to use the Tesla Superchargers"
"Popped in late lunchtime, service was pleasant but we had to wait absolutely ages for 2 pizza, 1 Calzone and 1 child's. Nice food but a shame about the excessive wait."
"Nice place, clean and staff friendly. No needed to book when we visited pudding selection was a little disappointingas lots of the cakes were not available.. Toilet clean. We had a 4 cheese pizza and a nduja calzone.. we did enjoy hopefully next time I will enjoy a pudding too."
