"I arrived on time for a tyre change. I paid for the tyres in advance and they were available in the store. It took HALF A DAY for them to change four tyres. If you are a busy person don't use Halfords."
"Fairly poor. Came in to change my battery. They changed it quickly but they never reinstalled the battery vent pipe potentially letting gases into my car interior (battery is inside my cabin) When I questioned technician he tried to tell me the battery didn’t have one. I stated I saw it come out with the old one. Miraculously he remembered he put it in the bin but said that the pipe doesn’t actually connect anywhere as it only lets out “air”. Of course not true as any person know batteries do not let out breathable gases. Upon leaving the engine management light came up and the manager at first tried to state it’s nothing to do with them. Again not true. I took it to a dealer and they reconnected the vent pipe and reset the computer. They said the vent pipe just connected to a drain plug and the engine management light can be triggered when a battery saver isn’t used. It would have taken them an extra 5 minutes to have this all carried out. The manager did state I could come back to have the light reset but at that stage I had lost confidence. Overall I wouldn’t recommend to go there unless you know cars, they will try to pull the wool over your eyes to save the effort even for basic safety features that require minimal effort. Gave 2 stars over 1 as they had the battery in stock. Otherwise they will never see me again."
"Summary: Avoid this place there are many other garages offering a far better customer service experience. Work done here is sloppy. No attention to detail. Managed to get a great deal on 4 premium tyres at Halfords Black Friday sale.. so I booked in for fitting and balancing at Halfords Chingford. Upon arriving at the Center. There was no where to park in front of The Halfords Center and was told to park at the nearby B&Q. The waiting room was small and pretty packed with a queue of 4 people in front of me and 4 others seated. The man serving wasn’t in a hurry and it took at least 20 mins before I was seen to and checked in… I had already booked a slot and because of the queue I was already 20 + mins behind. The fitting of the tyres and balancing took 2 hrs plus… In that time I visited the toilets… we’re they clean? NO they were absolutely disgusting. Eventually when I managed to get my keys and collect my car, I had a quick look at the tyres and noticed one of the new tyres was missing a value cover… no big deal but a detail none the less.. this was quickly resolved by popping back in the Center.. Having recalibrated the tyre deflation warning system before departing, I was surprised to see my tyre deflation alert. Recalibrating it again, a f ew mins later the alert reappeared. Pulling into my local garage with an air pump revealed that the tyres were all under pressure. Ultimately would I recommend this business . NO There are many other tyre centres offering a better service. Halfords auto center Chingford sort yourselves out…"
"Would not recommend this servicing centre. I dropped my car off at 11:15am. I was advised that as a ramp was available, my car would be brought straight into the garage for servicing and that the service would take no more than one hour. At 2pm I still had not received an update on the status of my car so I called the garage. I was told that it would “completed soon”. At 2:45pm I called again asking for another update, I was told that the car would be brought in at 3pm, and to expect it would be completed at 4:30. By 5pm I still did not have an update. At 5:15pm I called again and was kept on hold for 10 minutes before I was told that the technician was “nearly finished”. Throughout the day, I was checking the link I was sent via text for real-time updates on the car service but it never updated beyond confining that my car had been dropped off. What’s the point of sending a link for status updates if it doesn’t show anything helpful? I was then rudely told by staff to come and collect the car immediately, as if it wasn’t rush hour and would take half an hour to get there, because they were due to close. If they’d kept to the timing I was told, this wouldn’t have been an issue."
"I will not recommended for any service or anything and would not even give a rating if that was an option. First of all, the reception guy is very rude and not customer friendly also he is not willing to hear from customer side. Secondly, I had an issue with my shock absorber and I know about it since I drive the car. So I decided to go to halfords workshop since they provide the best service. But, he said there was no issue with it. Since, I felt the spring is weak, I decided go with local workshop. They straight away told the shocks are gone and need to be replaced. After that all shock issues were cleared. Thirdly, they called me to pick the car up and when I started the car suddenIy I got a warning symbol from ABS. I panicked and went to office and the reception guy came to inspect the car and diagnosis and he cleared the fault. After that I asked the guy "what the issue was and what happend",to which he replied as nothing is wrong and I can go and did not even care to answer my question and was very very rude. My question is THIS IS MY CAR AND I NEED TO KNOW OR I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY THE WARNING SIGN WAS THERE ,IT IS MY RIGHT TO GET INFORMATION ABOUT MY CAR THAN OTHERS. This is basic manners and other than that guy who is responsible to answer my question? I went to so may Halford centers in UK and I recieved great services. However, only this Halfords (Chingford) was disappointing for me and especially the customer service of front desk person."
