"I would like to say a big thank you to the doctors, nurses, support nurses, ward clerks, porters and domestic staff . My father who is 92years old was admitted to A and E with pneumonia and sepsis. We were moved to the Acute Medical Unit then Harbourne ward . Every member of staff we have met has been kind, caring, respectful and supportive . The medical staff have kept us informed and explained to us dads care and treatment. We have been offered food/,drinks continually and a put up bed when I stayed overnight in dads room . Thank you all so much for all your support and hard work ."
"No communication and no help when asked, the whole nurses and frames team can do their job well the communication from above such as doctors, consultants and pharmacy is beyond shocking. If the communication had been there and I talk as a general because there are people on sections that stand out as good, but if it had been there it would have been a top class service. My treat and the work done to me following my accident was good and they have patch me up well."
"Ridiculous waiting times in A&E, more than 24 hours to get seen too. The antibiotic drip was given in the waiting area! The ‘assistant staff at the nursing station refused to give her name and a lot of them do not wear name badges despite the NHS website mentioning staff should wear them where its visible! The nurses are arrogant, I get they may be overworked but that does not they should be mean you. Nurses are nasty to patients and behave as if they are working for free! One particular nurse was absolutely rude and nasty to a poor old man on a wheelchair and almost pushed him off the wheelchair because she deliberately let go of the handle of the wheelchair so that it jerked and he almost fell over and his slippers fell off. She then says ‘don’t you know how to put your slippers on’ when it was her fault! Doctors are very good and professional but sadly the work staff and nurses are rude and unwelcoming. Goodness, there needs to be an investigation and overhaul of this hospital its atrocious and has really run down. There were needles and used blood bottles lying in the cubicle. I pray i never see this place again! Whilst I have tremendous respect for the work and service NHS provide i was worried and saddened to see what this particular hospital has become. Worrying."
"Hospital for what I am travelling here for, fantastic. But car park D. Absolutely awful for disabled parking!! No one seems to monitor the cars without Blue badges, because I've seen the same cars everyday parked in disabled bay's without out Blue badges. Q park say the check. But they can't. So god help you if you are disabled and need to use car park D."
"I recently spent 5 days on ward w10 for leg/ankle surgery. From point of entry I was greeted with a smile, I was well fed. Well treated throughout. Put back to health and discharged. I cannot say enough positive things about about all the staff, from those preparing food to those nurses who go well above and beyond to care for each and every person on that ward. They are so so committed and I truly thank you all from the depths of my heart. For those people who abuse them, you should feel nothing but shame for your treatment of these life savers. If people expected less these staff could be even more productive because without the wingers calling “ nurse, nurse” every two seconds, they could take a break occasionally which would allow them to gather their thoughts and possibly even feel appreciated. One thing I would like to change, is the existence of menus of food choice. Patients should have choice of one veg diet, and one none veg diet and be grateful for what they get, instead of thinking they are on a all inclusive holiday. Those people deserve no care, no sympathy."
