"My original review said this: “Serviced the car quick but the staff were rude.” But now I’ve spoken to the owner, details below: I dealt with Owner Andy who immediately came off as rude, this was because I missed 2 calls to confirm my booking (after I made the booking online a week or so prior). I didn’t purposefully dodge the calls and they left me no messages. His comments made it very apparent that I was an inconvenience arriving for my booking. But they still took in my car and completed the MOT and service that same day! However that short conversation we had was very uncomfortable. So based solely on customer service I later gave him 2 stars and thought that was the end of it. It wasn’t… A couple weeks later Owner Andy left me a message asking if I’d call him to speak about the review, in the voice message he said he felt my review “was a-bit harsh”. I think most people wouldn’t have but I was interested so I called him back to explain my review and wondering if I’d get an apology. I did not. We had a conversation where he informed me about the pressures of being a small business owner, we spoke for 13 minutes and by the end he asked me to apologise to him for the 2 star review! And he asked me to remove it as he serviced my car very quickly. He did service my car quickly as my first review mentioned. But he was rude and now was completely unapologetic so we went back and forth and he explained the pressures of managing a garage during and after a pandemic and he explained the frustration of customers not confirming bookings as they get a lot of no shows. This was all understandable. Unfortunately I missed the 2 calls though they never left any voice messages, texts or emails despite having all my info. And I was not aware I had to re-confirm a booking I had already made online. I understood his frustration but he didn’t understand mine. I’m a customer who showed up for his booking and was made to feel uncomfortable unfairly. He took in my car but made sure I knew I was an inconvenience. I’d have preferred he refused to accept my car and ask me to rebook for next week if he at least was polite about it. I tried to explain that if he just spoke to me politely there would have been no issue. And i’d have likely returned for my MOT again next year. But he wasn’t having it and said that he didn’t think he was rude and that it was “madness” that I gave 2 stars based on customer service alone. He asked me to change the review. I asked him to first apologise. He wouldn’t unless I apologised first. I wouldn’t unless he apologised first. We hit a dead end and left it there, I said ‘thanks for the quick service, have a nice day’. And he said ‘have a nice day’ back. To summarise: Owner Andy will give you a fast service and reasonable prices. But please for the love of God answer your phone when they call! Please answer!!!! Owner Andy seems a nice chap (though a-bit stubborn like me) and he’s under a lot of pressure with the economy post covid. He just let that pressure out to the customer. I wish that phone call went differently but, such is life. Message to Owner Andy: I hope your business does well despite my 2 stars, and I can guarantee more customers will return if you welcome them politely (and that includes the annoying customers like me). I hope reading this helps you see my perspective as a customer. You let out a lot of facts but forgot about the emotion. Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. With that in mind please try WhatsApp, email or leave some voice messages when asking people to double confirm the booking. Most people don’t like returning calls from unknown numbers. And remember, the customer is not always right, but that it takes months to find a customer, seconds to lose one. Thanks again for the service. Take care x"

Turned up today out of the blue, and even though it was absolutely chocca with cars, Andy and the team still managed to check our car over. No fault was found, so they didn't charge me - absolutely first class service there. I'm sure some places would charge you an hourly rate for that.
