"SHOCKING SERVICE - AVOID AT ALL COSTS I’ve always believed in supporting local shops rather than the larger retail chains, but never again. This company is so unprofessional, in reading some of the reviews I’m not alone. I bought a BOSCH oven less than 9 months ago, when I noticed heat was coming out of the top, the door started to give way too. After reluctantly responding, I was told ‘this has nothing to do with us, contact the manufacturer’, they completely disregard the 2015 Consumer Rights Act, and operate on their own terms. Reading one review, I had exactly the same experience from whom I believe to be the owner, he was very rude, obnoxious and tried to intimidate me, turned on accusing me of being abrupt. Read the reviews properly, you can see through the obvious ‘made up ones’. It’s ironic on their website they quote ‘life time product support, if any issues arise just call us and we’ll help resolve’. I wasn’t’ even given a phone number to contact. But rest assured I’ll be taking this further, it’s illegal to run a retail operation in this way. Buy at your own risk, there will be no support if items breakdown, regardless of warranty, service is dreadful."
"A certain nAtiOnal retailer took our order for a particular chest freezer, and then rang back an hour later to say they hadn't got it in stock after all. Rang round local and national suppliers, nobody had what we wanted but Appliance Express said they would try to source one in the next few days and let us know. Well, they succeeded, excellent communication and great value. I was going past the shop so opted to collect rather than have it delivered, and was given a friendly reception and the member of staff carried it to the car for me too. Hadn't been in before, but was very favourably impressed by the enormous range of stock in the showroom - it's not as swanky as a PC World layout, but at the end ofnthe day it's the customer that pays for the shop. Bear in mind also that this company has been hit by covid as well so are well down on staff and don't employ excess numbers - my experience is that they do a great job with personal service. I will definitely use them again, and have no connection whatsoever other than being a satisfied customer."
"My wife and I ordered on 15th June 2021, under counter Hotpoint 'Future' freezer and fridge. We paid for both by cash. Freezer was no problem and was delivered, but fridge, we were first told 4+ weeks for the delivery. Okay these things happen We waited, 6 weeks, no word from Appliance Express, ('Express' now there's a joke.) So WE made contact with them. We were then told, 'It would be 8 weeks delivery, at least.' We waited another two weeks, 8 weeks in all. TWO MONTHS. Still nothing heard from Appliance Express, so we attended in person. The young male assistant said the next delivery from Hotpoint would be in October. and suggested if we couldn't wait to go and pick another fridge. I asked, 'why they couldn't have contacted us and told us this before as it's now, two months later?' (18th of August.) The excuse, 'The order was taken by another member of staff.' I asked, him, 'Why couldn't the other member of staff ring us?'. The assistant was very nice about it and all he could say was, 'I don't know'. We then went to look at other fridges. They only had ONE fridge in the store was cheep unknown make on display and not what we wanted. I then asked for my money back so we could go elsewhere. At this point the owner came over. He had been listening to the conversation and immediately started being really nasty to my wife and I. There was no introduction as to who he was, and started bellowing, "You come in here moaning, it's not our fault there"s no deliveries, yet all you do is blame us!" and other such things. He was very rude, obnoxious and obviously having a bad day, but to speak to customers the way he did was was beyond belief. We didn't know where it came from. Even the assistant, by the look on his face was in shock at the way we were being spoken to. I advised the owner, 'Not to speak to me like that as I'm the customer.' His reply....... "I speak to customers how ever I like." It's a wonder he has any customers left. At this point, I had heard and taken enough abuse so I demanded my money back but my conversation was back with the assistant, I don't think even he could believe how we were spoken to. At first he wanted to put the refund on one if our bank card, but we insisted, 'as we be paid in cash we wanted it back.' The cash was then forthcoming but the owner was very rude about it. I HAVE BOUGHT MANY AN APPLIANCE FROM HERE. I LIKE TO KEEP IT LOCAL IS MY BELIEF, BUT I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS LOCAL STORE. THE OWNER IS A RUDE, ARROGANT SELF IMPORTANT INDIVIDUAL AND THE SOONER HE GOES OUT OF BUSINESS THE BETTER. My wife and I then attended at Curry's Croft Industrial Estate. There, within ten minutes we had bought a new fridge, okay not the Hotpoint we wanted, but a good make and £50 cheeper than Appliance Express. It was in stock and staff put it in our car and within two hours it now sits proudly in our kitchen next to our Hotpoint, 'Future' Freezer. Local shops, stick 'em if that's their attitude. Never again. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!"
"Excellent, informative, friendly service, couldn't ask for more. After an absolute nightmare with Currys we cancelled our order and decided to shop local for a new built in double-oven. Bought and took away a lovely Belling from Appliance Express. Great prices and a super service. We'll be back in when we need our next appliance. Many thanks."
