"Friday, I have to taken a day off work to join the stampede for an appointment (8am),and receive a telephone consultation(10am).culmanatiting With a promise of a prescription being sent to Wells pharmacy. Victoria Ave. Which it wasn't. So now Saturday, doctors shut. Wells pharmacy shut. I now have to go back to work on Monday, with the same ailment I had last Thursday, and no further on.!If I could have given no stars I would. Thanks for absolutly nothing"
"Just moved to this surgery and I wish I hadn’t bothered. Ring at 8 can never get through and when you do there’s never any appointments. Twice now I’ve had to use 111 service for them to email the GP to offer me an appt. The receptionist has a poor attitude too- don’t understand why people who can’t be bothered with the public go into this kind of work. There’s just no need to be spoken to the way I did. Anyways I’d avoid because you’ll be dead and burried the time you get an appointment here!"
"In mine and my family’s experience this GP surgery is shocking and has gone right downhill since Dr Neville very sadly passed away. He was the best GP ever, in my opinion. They dismissed my sister’s back pain as anxiety, weight gain and stretch marks as coming off the pill and her sudden breathlessness as asthma. Dismissed time and time again by the doctors in the few years leading up to her death. Not long after moving out of the catchment area and after joining a new GP, she found out she had adrenal cancer that spread to her lungs and liver with Cushing’s syndrome. This is what the breathlessness, the weight gain/stretch marks and back pain was! If you want your health taking seriously, I would not be a patient at this GP. My sister wasn’t ever taken seriously by the GPs at this practice as regards her health and now she is dead. Our sister passed away at 30 years old 3 weeks ago. Had this GP surgery taken my sister’s health seriously, she might have had a fighting chance. My sister who is still with us had a telephone appointment with the GP surgery yesterday to ask for help with her mental health and sleeping issues as a result of our recent bereavements (mum and sister passing away) to be told by the GP she spoke with that she “can’t change anything” regarding the deaths we’ve experienced this year and gave her some sort of lecture on grief which was not helpful and not the reason why she called and he did not want to help her at all. It took for my sister to literally beg for something to help her sleep for him to prescribe her something. The way he was with her over the phone was not at all appropriate for what she was asking for. Again, I would say if you want your mental health taking seriously, I would not join this GP surgery. I’m struggling myself with the deaths we’ve experienced and I wouldn’t even attend this GP surgery for help as I know I won’t get it. I have been at this surgery from being a very young child and only stayed after Dr Neville had passed away out of hoping the same values that he had would be upheld but this is obviously not the case! I will either pay privately or change surgeries."
"To book an appointment you need to phone at 8am and win the lottery. You can be phoning until past 9am before you get through, after hundreds and hundreds of attempts, only to be told all appointments are already taken, try again tomorrow. So, you try again and the same thing happens. We are phoning due to illness, we already stressed out and this makes your patients worse. If you win the lottery you’ll get a phone call and a rushed conversation. They sometimes are in such a rush and tell you off if you have more to say. It does not feel person centred, the booking system is completely dysfunctional, if you’re not confident then you have no chance of accessing any help. You’re allocated different doctors each time who usually have no recollection of your ongoing issues. I am sure everyone is trying their best but it’s the system in place that causes these problems. Please, reconsider the way things are being managed, it may be more convenient for the staff but the patients are suffering."
"this is gonna be a long one :-) last week I suffered a really really bad case of severe back pain which would make even the strongest man cry and had to be rushed to the A&E at north manchester hospital, as a follow up i had to call my GP at neville yesterday and i do agree from 8am to 8:40 it took me 182 calls since the phone is constantly busy during that time BUT here comes the big BUT: I looked at all the bad reviews and must say most of them seem quite unfair ! yesterday i missed my call back ( who can jump to the phone with a injured back) and this morning i decided to go there myself . I came 15 mins early and when the practice opened ALL the reception lady's were friendly and helpful. I had to come back at 9:45 since the doctors were not in yet , and when i did ,my waiting time was only 15 minutes. I wish i could remember the Doctors name (tall black handsome guy :-) He get's 10 out of 10 from me ! I understand people with painful ailments are impatient and tend to take it out on Doctors and Nurses ! The Neville Family practice is a small enterprise and not NASA and i do believe they do the best they can !!!! I had two very friendly receptionists this morning and a great doctor who "listened" Thank you!! PS: i see Mike Neville is answering the reviews on here !? there is no need to comment on my review but if thats not to much to ask go ahead and shake the hands of all guys who worked in your practice this morning !!! My registered name is olaf wilhelm"
