"I visited here yesterday to renew my damage passport. Everyone is very humble here especially the person who was giving token God bless him. He was helping everyone. The employees were so soft spoken & courteous. Best embassy. I agree it's time consuming & delayed appointments as well but once your documentation is perfect hardly 5-6 minutes they took. My experience was awesome. I visited there with my 17 months daughter she also enjoyed. So no complaints."
"I had a mixed experience regarding the Visa. Imagine booking an appointment and then queueing to join the official queue for your appointment. My advice to anyone is to turn up one hour in advance because only then will you have a chance of getting to your desired appointment time. Second critical advice. Carry all your documents in a plastic sealable wallet. They can ask you at any time for that extra copy and they expect you to do it then and there! The checking officer literally lost my extra baby pictures because my things were dumped on the adjacent counter (so that the next person could usurp my place). Keep all your things in the plastic wallet. They don't care and won't accept any responsibility even if in the middle of checking! Save yourself stress. Third critical advice. Carry 50p pieces in your pocket because the solitary photocopier will not let you photocopy and you will need to exit the building to find the downstairs business who accepts card. Final piece of advice. I have never known a 21st century service that requires you to bring proof of your appointment on paper and submit it with your application (per applicant). I was required to make a copy on the spot. Totally ridiculous and defeats the object of having an online booking system."
"You have to carry your printed appointment letter. You are not entertained very early, only closer to your appointment time. Staff were busy, but helpful and efficient. Photocopy machine was not working."
"I should start by saying that they at least get 2 stars because, to their credit, they do generally get rhe job done IF (and it's a significant 'if') you manage to follow your way through the totally baffling maze of guidelines for any kind of application that they handle, and provide all the right documentation. That is largely the fault of the Indian High Commission though. What makes this place so awful is the abysmal wait times caused by, I presume, a combination of poor appointment planning on their part and the fact that so many people make mistakes in their application, resulting in every appointment taking longer than necessary. Big tip: only go on a day where you can get the earliest appointment possible and turn up well in advance of your appointment time. Wait times otherwise are appallingly and unacceptably long. I waited 2 hours having arrived at 9.30am - how can they already be 2 hours behind schedule that early in the morning??!! When you arrive you'll get a ticket number and then have to wait in the mercifully air conditioned waiting room (or when it's really busy you'll be told to go and sit outside or in the cafe downstairs) and then you're called up by an automated system with screens showing which counter to go to, but in an order which presumably corresponds to your order of arrival (but it seemed pretty random) so bears no relation to the actual appointment time (that's why it's so beneficial to just get an early appointment time). If you arrive too far ahead of your appointment you'll be told to come back later, having already queued once. The building is old and tired, the toilets are dirty, smelly and (in the gents at least) broken, the seating arrangement in the waiting room is ridiculously inefficient, so it's hard to move around and you sit often with someone else's head only a few inches in front of your own. Miserable. There is now a cafe and a little shop for getting you India visa/passport/OCI photo taken and you can park in the car park if there's space (see photo of charges - and definitely pay using the app so that you can extend your time without going back downstairs and queueing for the machine, as you don't want to miss your number being called), but I can't stress enough, there were people who arrived after me who must be been waiting for probably way way longer than 2 hours, so unless you want to waste a whole day, GET AN EARLY APPOINTMENT!"
"Appointment times are irrelevant. It's first come first served. Book an appointment at 8:30am and show up at 8am if you want to be seen in the first hour. Otherwise, it's an all-day appointment. Printing, photocopying, passport photo services available on site at high cost. Everything else about this venue is a hellish exercise in cost cutting and contempt for the customer. It's a disgusting endurance event, especially if you have children. Come with multiple adults so one can wait and the others can go outside. 200 people crammed into a waiting room with 150 seats. Expensive and bad cafe on the ground floor."
