"Called in after a personal recommendation as I needed some Oxfords for a wedding and couldn't have been more disappointed. As I entered a lady was at the counter making a complaint and asking for a refund and was getting refused. A fella approached me and we got chatting and I said I wanted some black Oxfords to go with a grey suit for a wedding. He asked why I wanted oxfords and I said I was told they would be the smartest, he asked where I heard that, I said the Internet to which he replied 'there's a big wide world out there' then went about trying to sell me a pair anyway. The two pairs I liked didn't quite fit me right, lifting/rubbing. He tried to get them to fit by putting inserts in a pair but for £200 I expect a pair to correctly fit without them. Then he said it was simply because I wasn't used to wearing shoes for a few years and that shoes can take up to 10 wears before they break in properly! No shoe seller with any integrity would say something like that. He went upstairs to get a different size and came down telling me that I would also need cedar wood shoe trees. Caution, say you're getting married and pound signs start flashing with some people. I asked him what was up with the lady who came in earlier and he said 'what will my boss think if the till was empty because I had to give someone a refund'.... My advice, go to Charles Clinkard, no pressure, they stock Loake shoes and other top makes to try on. There's also plenty of other shoe shops in Leeds worth trying before going here."

"Finest way to guarantee repeat business is behave in the exemplary fashion that all the guys at Loake behaved. I'd initially bought a pair a pair of boots from them and unbeknown to me at the time there was a slight manufacturing defect with them, this had led to some discomfort in walking in them. No issue for me as I understand products have defects, the issue is when a company doesn't stand by its products. On returning to the store and explaining the issue they boys in store couldn't have done more to help me come to a resolution and ultimately this had the result in me spending more money with them. I won't hesitate to buy another pair from Loake next time I need some. Quality footwear and quality customer service"

"While in Leeds I figured I'd pick up a pair of English shoes and thought of no better place to shop than the local Loake AD. These guys offer great service and, although the shop was busy on Saturday, I felt they were very attentive to all my needs and I wasn't rushed nor pressured into buying anything. I would like to especially thank the salesman, Matt, who was extremely friendly and did an excellent job helping me get the right fit. I absolutely love the boots I bought, the people here are absolute gentlemen. Highly recommended."

"I have just brought a pair of shoes from Morgan at Loake in Leeds and Morgan was Awesome in his service. There was never any pressure to purchase a pair and I have ended up with my first ever Beige pair of shoes. The quality of the shoe means I spent $400 on a pair of shoes, which I have never spent on a pair of shoes ever in my life. "Thanks Morgan!!! I'm a size 6.5 and there were no brown tanned shoes in my size, which I needed for a wedding in 4 days. Morgan gave me a number of options and some advice before making various calls to other Loake shops in the UK and the factory!! He managed to source me a pair from Cardiff and get them delivered, along with a call from the shop the minute they were in.. All this at 5 minutes to closing time with no clock watching!! Could not do enough for me! Honestly the best service I've had in top end retail, with a smile and a few laughs. Cheers guys you're awesome!!!!"
