Reviews
"We had a fantastic meal. The food was of an excellent standard. The service was amazing. The service staff were knowledgeable about the items on the menu. It wasn't a cheap meal, however the quality of the food and whole experience made it well worth the price we paid. We found it particularly unfair that other reviewers had scored the restaurant 1 star after enjoying the food and service, but not liking the price - you get what you pay for! The menu and price are well advertised. We can't wait to visit again!"
"An Italian restaurant with a difference. Looking down the menu I spotted Scollops with Savoy Cabbage, an unlikely combination, but it worked really well. The cosy atmosphere in this historic building is well supported by the friendly staff. A great experience with items on the menu that I suspect you would would struggle to find elsewhere."
"Lovely family run restaurant with a tasty menu. Staff were welcoming and took our coats after showing us to our seats. All four of us chose a different main course and it was clean plates all round. For desert the lads chose Tarte tatin both said it had quite a bitter taste but cleared their plates none the less. We had the Tiramisu with hazelnut ice cream. It was simply divine. Lovely warm cosy atmosphere. Will definitely be back for more."
"This was our 3rd visit to All Angelo and we will return again I'm sure. Its a beautiful little italian restaurant in a gorgeous old building and they have kept the old charm with the exposed beams and ambient lighting. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is tasty and presented beautifully and we really enjoyed our evening there, as well as our previous visits. Service can be a little slow when its busy but not so much that its a bother and the staff check in on you regularly to .ake sure you have everything you need. So after 3 visits, i feel i can now give a better and clearer review as based on our first 2 visits i would have given 5 stars, but there were just a few things on the 3rd visit that let it down a little meaning i can only give 4 stars. The menu has changed from the first 2 visits and it now has a lot less options to our taste. Neither of us eat fish and there is a lot of fish/seafood on the menu so we felt we had a limited choice. (Although I'm sure any seafood lovers would be delighted with the menu!) I had the duo of pork for my main and the majority of the dish was delicious but i felt that the little bbq pork bonbon had no place on the plate with the rest of the dish. It was tasty in its own right, but the bbq flavours clashed with the rest on the plate and it just didnt fit. We ordered a bowl of chips as a side which were very over fried (think solid crisps) and mostly scraps in the bowl. And finally, my partner had the double chocolate tart for dessert and it was not great . Very thick pastry with hardly any chocolate on (no sign of the double) and a tiny slice too. These are all minor points that would be very easily fixed so its not something that will stop us going back but we may wait until the menu changes again in the hope it will have more options for us to choose from. All in all we have had 3 lovely evenings here on date nights and as a family group and would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic italian dinner and a delightful evening out!"
"Wonderful Italian restaurant. The building has genuine character with old oak beams spread over two floors .. plenty of room for special occasions. But the food .. is excellent .. how can simple bread taste this good? .. the staff are great .. special mention to Alex .. big smile, warm welcome and excellent customer service .. she's a star! .. good value for quality food, location and service. See you again soon ... Thank you."
