Welcome to Pioneers Memorial Park, located in Leichhardt, Norton Street, Australia. This institution holds historical significance as it was formerly known as the Balmain Cemetery, where over 10,000 burials took place representing 24 different religious denominations. The majority of these burials occurred before December 1908, making it a significant resting place for pioneers of the district. In 1941, the cemetery was renamed Pioneers Memorial Park as a tribute to the pioneers and now serves as a serene and peaceful recreational area for future generations to enjoy. The park features a memorial dedicated to the brave service people of Leichhardt who lost their lives during World War 1 (1914 – 1919), as well as the Bicentennial Rotunda.
