It all began with Granny Cooper, who established the area's first form of schooling in her cottage during the late 1860s. Her daughter, Violet Sutton, later transformed the cottage into Sutton's Corner Store after her husband's passing and her mother's death. Over the years, this place has undergone several transformations. In 1974, new owners turned the buildings into a licensed cafe known as the Crab & Anchor. In 1994, the Brown family took over and rebranded it as Cafe Pronto.
