"PARU!!! We’ve been coming back here for over a decade. The previous owner was a grump but at least he kept the facilities clean, tidy and of cause the attraction access to the lake via canoes, which we couldn’t access because it was cordon off understandably due to flood damage. We stayed in one of the renovated motels for the first time apparently this is all that was available at the time. Office was closed due to renovations, was told to bring own towels and cash (red flags raised, we were desperate due to long weekend) seemed overpriced. Complimentary soap x1 15gm soap for 4 people, didn’t even check if there were enough dishes for the number of people, no wifi code, no glasses, no spare blankets, no clear instructions how to operate the stove top (perhaps wasn’t working) to top it off the bedding was filthy with blood stains on duvet cover, spit stains and old musty smell pillow cases, room smelt old and damp. We slept in the lounge area with heat pump on all night. If we could afford, we would have packed up at left. Sad and glad to say never ever going back there!!! The current owner nice guy but didn’t get to see or talk him, not sure if he’s around… bro the place is run down."
"Cheap Accommodation @$60 for the night, a little down on the Aesthetics of the buildings and area but has shared facilities like toilets and Kitchen. Rooms have no toilets or bathroom facilities but a small kitchen with microwave and fridge, heater, Kitchen utensils and a bed with linen and couple blankets, unfortunately my fridge was not working. This accommodation was good when needed to find a bed for the night."
"Very quiet, but cold and damp in the winter as the heater was not working in the room. Ladies bathroom was rather clean but saw a cockroach and spider on the bench. Got blankets and duvets provided but they were smelly and found a cockroach again on the sheet next day... can't believe the disgusting thing was on the same bed with me for a whole night..... if I hadn't found cockroachs, I might have thought this accommodation okay."
"Very small quiet camp ground with lovely stream to fish from. Big kitchen with everything needed. Nice games rooms. Booking system could be better as there website showed alot of availability so made a booking and headed that way the next day to receive email saying they cant take us. I expressed I had travlled to the area so they allowed us to camp in the car park area Wich was fine by us as it was grassed for us to put tent. There website also states it's $21 per person per nite I was charged $160 for 2 people for 2 nites when it should have been $84"
"Great place to camp at, cheap and affordable. Really good and clean facilities. Kitchen is fantastic, user friendly and tidy. Not really that far from city center. They are pet friendly too, which is great for travelling people travelling with K9's. Made good use of kayaks that were available. But the life jackets need to be replaced, they are outdated and do not fit properly. Some have missing clips and broken foam pads so would be useless in keeping someone afloat. I made do and enjoyed it anyway. Definately be back when travelling through again."
