"Very nice walk along the bay with views over cape kidnappers cliffs. Beach is not suitable for swimming, very strong and dangerous currents in the water. The walk stretch from the war memorial to the aquarium and further down south. Relaxing place to enjoy the sea views."
"Outstanding. An excellent candidate site for establishing my new steps record, since I can easily get entertained by the lights at night, the ocean, the fishermen, and the gulls during the day."
"Great place to chill in the sun. Petty about the stone beach but still great to get out and have some fun in the sun. Sunny Hawkes Bay!"
"The parade stretches away from the city, being one of the main roads. The area near the city has quite a few nice restaurants. As you head away from the town there is are gardens, a skate park, playgrounds, aquarium, and then biking areas. It goes from around the Memorial center to the Pump track. There are footpaths but there is also a walking area on the beach side which is nicer to walk on. It is a nice place to walk or bike around. Great place to just relax and take a few pics or wake around and explore. There are quite a few grassy areas with seating and BBQ close to the beach. The beach itself is also quite interesting being a pebble beach. This area is probably one of the few places you would want to visit in Napier."
"We had previously visited Napier during late autumn and found the Marina Parade area somewhat underwhelming. However, our recent visit in late September was considerably more impressive, no doubt due to the many spring flowers that had bloomed, bringing the promenade to life during this time of year. The Marina Parade Garden, the Sound Shell flower beds and Sunken Garden were all lively with numerous flower beds in full bloom. Adding the rich array of colour makes the Marina Parade a lovely area to walk around and spend time, a tremendous difference from the what you can experience during the autumn and winter times of the year. Our impression of the Marina Parade area changed quite a bit after visiting Napier in the spring. We now consider this a major draw for Napier during this time of year. Note, many of the other parks and gardens around the city are also in full bloom during early spring. Keep your camera batteries charged if visiting this time of year as there are quite a few pictures you will want to take."
