Welcome to the Clive War Memorial Pool, located in the beautiful surroundings of Farndon Park and on the edge of the Clive River in New Zealand. Our establishment is an indoor heated pool complex that is open year-round, providing a perfect setting for swimming and water activities.

The main pool at Clive War Memorial Pool is heated to a comfortable 28 degrees, while the learner's pool is heated to a warmer 31 degrees. Our facility features a 25-meter training pool and a 15-meter learn-to-swim pool, catering to swimmers of all levels. We offer excellent learn-to-swim classes and have dedicated lanes for water play and lap swimming. For those who prefer group workouts, our AquaFit classes are designed to suit all fitness levels.

In addition to serving as a recreational facility, Clive War Memorial Pool is also a base for the Trojan Swim Club, Waimarama Surf Club, and Hawke’s Bay Canoe Polo. We also provide swimming lessons and water safety classes for schools.

At Clive War Memorial Pool, we believe in making swimming a fun experience for everyone. That's why we often organize entertaining activities for kids, such as giant inflatables, during the weekends and school holidays in winter.

Please note that during learn-to-swim hours, the 15-meter learner pool is closed to the public. Additionally, children under the age of 8 must be actively supervised by a caregiver who is at least 16 years old and within arm's reach at all times.

For those looking for lane swimming, please be aware that there is limited space available on Thursdays before 8am. However, three swimming lanes are available from 6am to 8am and 3.15pm to 5.30pm on weekdays and Saturday mornings. On Monday to Thursday, two swimming lanes are available from 3.15pm to 5.30pm, and on Fridays, they are available from 3.15pm to 5pm exclusively for lane swimming.

During term time, the learner pool is closed to the public from 9am to 11am and 3.30pm to 5.30pm on weekdays, as well as from 9am to 12.15pm on Saturdays. Additionally, it is closed every Monday afternoon from 1pm.

Please note that the changing rooms may be unavailable one at a time due to renovations. However, our disabled/family change room will remain available, and our staff will be on hand to assist and manage the process. We recommend coming swim-ready, if possible, to help minimize the usage of the changing rooms.

If you are a SuperGold Cardholder, you can swim at Clive War Memorial Pool for just $1. This offer is exclusive to Flaxmere and Clive pools only. For regular visitors, we recommend applying for an Aqua Card in person at our facility to save time and money.

Looking to improve your water safety skills? We offer an ideal course led by qualified instructors from Coastguard New Zealand. This course covers essential knowledge on staying safe in the water, avoiding dangers, and successfully surviving in aquatic environments. The course includes 20 minutes of dry land training and 40 minutes in the pool. We provide a boat and life jackets, but you are welcome to bring your own (life jackets, of course!). The course costs $25 per participant and is limited to 16 spaces per session. Please note that all children under 8 must have an adult in the water with them.
