At Glisten Jewellery, our team is led by Gerard Smith, a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Jeweller with over 27 years of expertise in the field. Gerard holds various certifications, including a Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Manufacturing Jewellery from 1984, a Diamond Certificate from the Gemological Institute of America in 2003, and a Graduate Gemologist certification from the Gemological Institute of America in 2008.

Gerard's journey in the world of jewellery began in 1981 when he started his apprenticeship as a Manufacturing Jeweller at Adrian Jackson Ltd in Taupo, New Zealand. Since then, he has honed his skills and worked at reputable jewellery establishments in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He has also served as a Workshop Manager and has been a member of The Jewellery Valuers Society of New Zealand since 2012.

Together with his wife, Janeen Kydd-Smith, Gerard founded Glisten Jewellery to cater to the discerning customers who value bespoke and innovative jewellery design. Our studio specializes in creating stunning pieces using exquisite coloured stones, diamonds, and precious metals. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted to meet the individual requirements and desires of our clients.
