"Everyone comes here for the rice balls which are a really great price of $2.50 but I still don't think they're worth! The rice balls (in general) are just so bland and the filling is not enough to bring out enough flavor against the rice. Too bland and not worth the good taste in my opinion. I have however ordered their spicy pork don to take away and it was delicious, but nothing special about it that stands out from other Japanese places where I've ordered the same dish. Not too spicy, good proportion of pork to rice and the price is standard."
"Best kimchi stew that I’ve ever tried and everything is so yummy and beautiful friendly service… always our favourite place to eat in Dunedin"
"Really tasty, fresh sushi. Great value platters. Helpful owners. Would highly recommend."
"An amazing little find in the heart of studentville Dunedin. Great food, good prices, and an atmosphere that shows how much love is poured into this small business!"
"Overall experience: Disappointing, Betrayed. One of the first things I noticed was the cornered seating area - felt a bit claustrophobic and a little stuffy. Another thing was, using throw away chopsticks for even dine-in customers. It was a little odd (and wasteful). Nevertheless, I was there mainly for the 'food' - which I must say was terrible and very dissapointing. Ordered two dishes. One was the 'Spicy Chicken Ramen Soup' - which I was served Instant noodle. I was even able to guess which instant noodle (For the curious ones out there, the Korean instant noodle brand Nongshim Shin Ramyun Noodle soup). The second dish was the Sukiyaki Chicken Udon Noodle - which tasted so sweet. It was maybe 'just ok'. I wouldn't order it again - personally I do not like sweet chicken noodle. Tokyo Express - Disappointing, Betrayed and Robbed. Please do not spoil the name of delicious Japanese cusine. (By the way, Tokyo express do not have a Japanese chef.) Definitely not going back."
