South Waikato Indoor Pools Roslin Street, Tokoroa, Waikato 3420
About the Business
Welcome to South Waikato Indoor Pools, located at Roslin Street in Tokoroa, New Zealand. Our establishment is a point of interest in the area, offering a range of facilities and activities for everyone to enjoy.
The South Waikato Indoor Swimming Pool Complex was built in 1995 and officially opened on 11 February 1996, although the doors were opened in December 1995. The main pool is 25 metres by 13.3 metres and consists of six lanes, with provision for eight lanes through extra lane anchors. The depth of the main pool varies from 1.05 metres to 2.2 metres. We also have a tiered leisure pool with graduated depths up to a maximum of 0.9 metres, featuring a sloping beach entry, waterfalls, and bubble jets. Adjacent to this, we have a hot spa and exercise spa pool for relaxation. The main pool is heated to 28 degrees during winter, while the leisure pools are kept at a comfortable 30 degrees and the spa pool at a relaxing 39 degrees.
In addition to the pools, we offer other facilities such as a community room, a children's outdoor play area, and BBQ and picnic surrounds adjacent to the building. Our goal is to provide a space where everyone can have fun and enjoy themselves.
The South Waikato Indoor Swimming Pool Complex was largely funded by ratepayers through the Council, with $280,000.00 of the total cost of $2.4 million being contributed through community fundraising efforts. We are grateful for the support of the community in making this facility possible.
Safety is a priority for us, and we are fortunate to have a defibrillator on-site for emergencies. This life-saving device was generously donated by Lions and is used for the treatment of life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias.
If you're planning a visit, please come and find us at Roslin Street, Tokoroa 3420. We offer various pool fees and charges, swim programmes, and seasonal pools to cater to your needs.
We take pride in our commitment to sustainable practices. Our solar panels, visible on the roof of the Indoor Pool complex, heat two separate systems - the two family changing rooms and the main male and female changing block. This solar heating system has been in place since 2007, with 50% of the funding provided by EECA (Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority). The payback period was six and a half years, and since then, the system has paid for itself, providing cost efficiencies for ratepayers every year. We encourage the community to consider installing solar heating in their homes, as the Council has waived building consent fees for this purpose.
We invite you to come and experience the South Waikato Indoor Pools for yourself. Whether you're looking to swim, relax in the spa, or enjoy the outdoor amenities, we have something for everyone.

"Fantastic swimming facility. Lots of games set out by the staff. Asked a staff member if they could put a lane for my neice and it was no bother. All staff that we encountered were extremely helpful and had the Tokoroa whanau feel."
