"Absolutely beautiful. The kids and I totally enjoyed our time there. Listening to all of mother natures animals. If your planning on doing the walk take plenty of water and sturdy foot wear. We will be going back again as there are a few other places here we would like to check out."
"Barnett Park, which includes the entire walkway, is a long, narrow strip of land in the suburb of Redcliffs, off to the right as you drive around the estuary toward Sumner, From the car park, walk south along the east side of the playing fields to a stile leading to a farmed part of the valley floor. Continue past the end of Bay View Road on the left and one of a series of electrical pylons that cross the valley. The track climbs onto the hillside on a dirt track through grasses, gorse and broom. Further up the valley, native vegetation becomes more prominent. Seating is regularly placed along the length of the track. A steep staircase leads up to the cave, which surveys the whole of the valley."
"Would be a great walking tracks if the tracks and stairs were fixed. Good distance for 1.5 - 2 hours walk (am a slow walker). OK for older children (like over 8), not suitable for young kids because of the broken stairs, and some parts of the track were washed off. Would like to go back again, but only after the tracks and stairs are fixed."
"Great walk! Unfortunately, the Council have not repaired the 2 tracks to the cave. Unsure why one track is closed when the stairs to the cave are quiet dangerous walking up and down to the cave. Broken stairs with nails sticking out. I think once council do some maintenance work that is clearly earthquake damage, this track would be a 5 star rating."
"The cave walk is closed after the earthquakes. Although it is still possible to get to the cave, the tracks are very overgrown and wooden stairs/bridges starting to become ruined. However although not as nice the eastenders track is still open."
