Another featured item this month is our Leo Zodiac Tealight Candleholder, also made from recycled Mataī. With fire as their zodiac element, Leos are all about attention, light, and energy. The Mataī, also known as Black Pine, is an endemic New Zealand coniferous tree that can be found throughout the country. Growing up to 40 meters in height with a trunk diameter of up to 2 meters, Mataī is a remarkable species. While it is not currently threatened, it has been significantly reduced due to widespread logging. As a result, intact examples of mataī-dominated forests are becoming increasingly rare.
