We would also like to inform you that, like many other places, we are currently facing some staffing challenges at Pathlab Microbiology. However, our dedicated team is working hard to maintain our services and provide the best possible care to our patients.

In terms of updates, starting from the 7th of August 2023, all Pathlab sites will be offering Lipase as a better alternative to Amylase. This change aims to improve our services and enhance the accuracy of our testing.

Furthermore, there will be an update regarding Urine Electrophoresis (BJP) Testing. As of Monday, 31st July 2023, BJP testing will only be available to haematologists, and we recommend requesting serum free light chains instead when investigating for a monoclonal gammopathy.

Lastly, please be aware of the postponed go-live date for HPV Primary testing. The new date is set for the 12th of September 2023, as announced by the Manatū Hauora Ministry of Health.
