In the early days, learners would arrive at our school on milk wagons, horseback, or by foot. However, as times have changed, all our students now arrive by car. Despite this shift in transportation, we cherish our connection to the past and constantly explore our local history through our tailored curriculum.

Our school community is incredibly tight-knit, with many families having been part of our Motumaoho family for generations. It is not uncommon to see former staff, pupils, and parents returning to visit or enroll their own children. Once you become part of the Motumaoho whānau, you will always be connected to us.

Surrounded by prominent oak trees and other native species, our school grounds are a haven for nature lovers. These trees, our faithful "kaitiaki," have stood guard over our school for many years. Additionally, a gully with a tributary of the Waitakaruru stream runs through our rear boundary, providing a perfect opportunity for our students to explore, learn, and respect nature.
