If you suspect you may have hepatitis, our center can provide the necessary tests to determine the presence of the hepatitis B virus. Acute hepatitis infection can cause discomfort, but most people recover fully. However, if the test is positive for the hepatitis B virus for more than 6 months, it indicates chronic hepatitis B. Our focus is on preventing long-term liver damage and providing appropriate treatment options.

For patients with hepatitis C, we are pleased to offer Maviret, a highly effective medicine that can cure the disease in the majority of cases. After just 8 weeks of treatment, over 90% of patients will be cured.

In addition to hepatitis testing and treatment, we also offer breath testing services. Breath testing is a noninvasive method that measures the amount of hydrogen or methane you exhale after consuming a glucose and water mixture. This test can help identify bacterial overgrowth in your small intestine, which may be causing digestive issues.

Please note that two separate breath tests are required, with the initial test using lactulose as a control to determine whether you are a hydrogen or methane producer. This ensures accurate measurement on subsequent testing. If you do not produce hydrogen, we will use methane testing and send the sealed samples to Auckland for analysis.

Furthermore, breath hydrogen and methane tests can also help identify lactose and/or fructose intolerances. Three separate breath tests are required, with the initial test using lactulose as a control. If you do not produce hydrogen, methane testing will be used, and the samples will be sent to Auckland for analysis.
