"I have been swimming at McMillans Aquatic Centre for three years and thoroughly recommend this facility for the casual swimmer. As a senior, once a week is a good way to use muscles that otherwise wouldn't see much action, but I feel good after the workout. The facilties are basic but sufficient, the friendliness from other swimmers and staff is first rate. I prefer to book a lane once a week at a given time over the term and work around that as opposed to just turning up and hoping its not to busy at other pools. Check it out, you could be pleasantly surprised."

"Hello. I just met a Macmillans Aquatic Centre vehicle at the intersection of Cobham street and Lyttelton street. I was in a non motorised cargo bike with my dog in the front. I smiled and gestured to the middle aged male driver of the vehicle to turn right as I didn’t have the ability to accelerate rapidly. The driver indicated that I should go straight through the intersection as per the road rules, which I did. As the driver then past me he said “there’s road rules for a reason mate”. He seemed agitated. I’ve not had any business interactions with this company but the conduct during this interaction seemed aggressive and unnecessary, in the context of what I intended to be a courteous gesture"

"Blair and his team provide my children with a great platform for a life long love of swimming. They undertake a planned approach, teaching children in stages, allowing them to move on to the next class only once they have mastered the necessary skills in the stage they are in. The emphasis on the skill of swimming - the 'process' rather than the 'outcome' allows the children to learn at their own pace, build load and feel a great sense of accomplishment. Our daughter moved through the classes at Bumblebees, then on to Macs Swim School. Now she is involved in squad swimming one night a week, and wanting to do more. She may never swim competitively, but the sense of accomplishment she gets from performing her swimming well and in lowering previous swim test times is something that we treasure. While other swim schools may follow a similar formula, the quality, experience and manner of teaching is outstanding. I highly recommend MAC'S to any parent considering swimming for their children."
