Welcome to Central Kids Rewi Street Kindergarten, located at 60 Rewi Street in Te Awamutu, New Zealand. We are an establishment that is dedicated to providing a nurturing and enjoyable learning environment for children. At Rewi Street Kindergarten, we prioritize the values of Manaakitanga, Rangatiratanga, and Kaitiakitanga. Manaakitanga emphasizes the importance of creating a sense of belonging and enjoyment for all. We encourage fun and laughter throughout the day, ensuring that every child feels comfortable and happy in their learning journey.

Rangatiratanga highlights the shared leadership and responsibility within our learning community. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to lead their own learning, take risks, and follow their strengths and interests. By trusting our tamariki (children) to take charge of their own learning, we empower them to become confident and independent individuals.

Kaitiakitanga is another important aspect of our institution. As a community of learners, we support and encourage each other to develop social competence and problem-solving skills in a safe environment. We also prioritize learning experiences in the natural environment, which helps strengthen our connection with Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) and develop our ecological identity. As part of this commitment, we are currently creating a māra kai (edible garden) that will be shared with our whānau (families).

Our fees after government entitlements are affordable at $5.00 per hour, ensuring that quality education is accessible to all families. We believe in fostering strong community connections and are grateful for the support we receive from organizations such as the Pelorus Trust, who recently provided us with new blinds at Tūrangi Kindergarten.

We are proud to be a part of the Kihikihi Kindergarten, where we are growing a generation of gardeners! Our commitment to creating a sustainable future is evident in our efforts to teach children about gardening and the importance of caring for our environment.
