Welcome to BestStart Cranford Street, located at 137-139 Cranford Street St Albans, Christchurch. We are a vibrant and creative early learning center that takes pride in fostering productive partnerships and supporting children's learning and development at every age and stage.

At BestStart Cranford Street, we believe that children's play is an integral part of their learning journey. Through adventure, fun, and friendship, our tamariki (children) develop independence, confidence, and the skills that set them up for a lifelong love of learning. Each of our four classrooms has been thoughtfully designed to cater to the specific learning and developmental needs of each age group, creating an environment where children can thrive.

Our Nursery provides nurturing and caring for our pēpi (babies) under 2 years old, creating a relaxing environment where they feel at home. Our Explorers room caters to tamariki aged 2-3 years, offering a creative environment that encourages exploration and self-discovery while developing essential self-help skills. In our Preschool room, tamariki aged 3-4 years experience a balance between teacher and child-led experiences, allowing them to explore thought-provoking provocations. Our Extension room prepares tamariki aged 4-5 years for their transition to school, fostering independence and offering our unique 'Be School Ready' initiative.

Our outdoor environment is a source of pride for us at BestStart Cranford Street. With a shared open space for children over 2 years old, our Nursery children can interact with and learn from their older peers, fostering relationships and nurturing sibling bonds. Our indoor and outdoor learning spaces are designed to engage and inspire our children as they grow and develop.

We place great importance on open communication and strong relationships with our tamariki and their whānau (families). We believe that children learn through interactions with whānau, teachers, peers, and the wider world. We nurture these relationships and provide meaningful learning opportunities that build on their natural curiosity.

To keep you involved in your child's learning journey, we use Storypark, a safe online communication system. Through Storypark, you can stay up to date with your child's activities, view photos, and even send direct messages to teachers.
