Welcome to Spreydon School, a small but proud city school located in Christchurch, New Zealand. With a rich history spanning over 140 years, we have been an integral part of our community and continue to represent the aspirations and values of our whanāu (extended family) and wider community.

Recently, we have moved to a new site and have purpose-built Learning Hubs that have greatly enhanced our Teaching and Learning Programmes. These Learning Hubs feature purpose-built breakout spaces, maker spaces, and green outdoor areas where students can work individually, in pairs, small groups, or as a whole Hub. The design of our Hubs is inspired by the rafts that once traveled the local waterways to the local pa, making Spreydon School truly unique.

Serving the families of the South West of Christchurch and the surrounding areas, we have provided quality co-educational education for over 140 years. Our commitment to excellence and creating a supportive learning environment sets us apart.

In order to maintain our traditions and celebrate our rich history, we have various events and activities throughout the year. For instance, we recently celebrated Spreydon's 151st Birthday, a testament to our enduring presence in the community. We also offer opportunities for sibling and family photos, which can be arranged through our office.
