Welcome to Smash Palace, a beloved bar and burger joint located on High Street in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our story began when our previous bar, Goodbye Blue Monday, was destroyed in the devastating 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. We relocated to our current spot on High Street after spending a few years on Victoria Street.

As a family-owned business, we take pride in the strong community we have built here at Smash Palace. Our bar has become a central gathering point for locals, offering more than just a place to enjoy a cold beer (although we do that exceptionally well). It's a place to meet fellow community members and be a part of the vibrant spirit of the new Christchurch.

When it comes to food, we specialize in mouthwatering burgers and delectable bar snacks. Everything is made from scratch, including our buns, chutney, patties, pickles, and aioli. We believe in sourcing ingredients from animals that have lived happy and contented lives before gracing our plates.

Our burger menu offers a variety of tantalizing options, such as the classic beef burger with bacon, onion rings, cheese, BBQ sauce, and mayo. Vegetarian options like the falafel patty with cheese, mayo, Smash pickle, and lettuce are also available. For those craving something different, we offer dishes like hash browns, bacon, egg, and relish served either on a plate or as a burger.

Quench your thirst with our specialty house beer, brewed just up the road by us. It's fresh, local, and always available at Smash Palace. We also have a great selection of bottled and canned brews, featuring a sampling of beers from around New Zealand.

Wine enthusiasts will be delighted to know that all our wines are sourced from family-owned and operated vineyards in Waipara. By supporting small businesses, we aim to bring you the best quality wines.

Please note that due to weather conditions, we do not accept reservations. However, our spacious venue allows for plenty of seating, so just show up and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
