About the Business
Welcome to Piki Te Ora, a premier health establishment located at 201 Linwood Avenue in Christchurch, New Zealand. As a primary health care service, Piki Te Ora has been serving the local community since 1989, providing accessible and affordable healthcare to ordinary working New Zealanders.
Originally known as Union and Community Health Centre (UCHC), Piki Te Ora Health Centre Trust was formed in November 2022 and took over the facility at 201 Linwood Avenue. The founding members, a group of Trade Unions, recognized the need for improved accessibility and affordability of primary health care, leading to the establishment of UCHC.
In the mid-1990s, UCHC underwent a transformation, broadening its reach and making its services available to an increasingly diverse range of people. This commitment to social justice and vision of the founding members continues to guide the new charitable trust in providing accessible primary health care to the local whanau and community.
We rely on the support of our community to continue serving you. Please consider supporting us on our Give A Little Page, where every little contribution helps us make a difference.

"Affordable costs, good doctors and awesome nurses."
"tried to register with them, i got told that i cant, no reason why and when i asked why the receptionist said she just couldnt then told me to go to the A&E which i cant afford, and then hung up on me. really disappointed as im just trying to find a maori doctor."
"my name is kiriana i am a recently diagnsed 1 year and a half hype-manic bipolar patient still finding an understanding with living day to day. i have moved houses i have 50 bxs to g through and furniture blocking some of them. i rung piki te ora spoke to linda and another receptionist to ask the doctor if i could have 2 zoplicone n 2 haleperiodal tablets until i was able to sort through my new move . i had a repeat available in 14 days for my zoplicone so i asked to have 2 tablets released until i found my kitchen /medicine box and was refused because apparently there policy is they do not replace lost stolen prescription where in asking to have 2 tablets released early am i asking for a new script i am asking for a current script to be partially released to relieve pressure off of my current situation. i may add i have a 10mnth old a 3 year old and a teenager to look after at the same time as my move n unpacking . this has caused me high levels of hypermania in my bipolar disorder i cant function without my medication i thought with my mental health there would be support to make sure i am not vulnerable and left feeling mistreated , belittled and not having any faith in the health system to support me in my breakdown today i strongly believed my medical center could support me now my opinion of piki te ora has highly changed they have no empathy for my situation they were rude and insensitive and never got the doctor to speak with me directly . bernard is a fantastic doc but unfortunately today without even speaking to me you refused to support me mental health is important i should have been prioritized and dealt with in a more sensitive way due to my mental health disorder . no trust no faith n i never asked to replace or renew a script therefore no one was breaking any policy except for piki te ora whom are supposed to treat patients according to the health and disability act which today has not occured ..... ps i didnt wanty to give a star at all i had to do it to post this"
"I would like to thank all staff in this medical centre for the care and attention that is afforded your clients from the wonderful cheerful and chatty receptionists through to your caring and diligent Nurses and Doctors. Thankyou Lorraine"
