At BestStart St Albans, we believe in supporting children to take managed risks within our environment. We understand the difference between risks and hazards, and we believe that by supporting children through risk-taking experiences, we can challenge their thinking and empower them to become stronger and more confident individuals in the future.

Our children are actively involved in all aspects of our center's day. From driving our child-led curriculum based on their interests to participating in cooking and baking activities, they have the opportunity to explore and engage in a variety of experiences. Moreover, we have an onsite cook who prepares all our meals under a full vegetarian menu, catering to any special dietary requirements.

Our Nursery, licensed for 16 children, offers spacious areas for children to grow and develop within a nurturing environment. We also offer free settling visits for new children to support their transition from home to center. This allows both the child and their family to get to know our teachers, other children, and the space before officially starting.

In our Preschool room, licensed for 34 children, we focus on supporting children's independence. Our large, natural backyard is home to a vegetable garden where children learn about growing, harvesting, and cooking their own vegetables. We also provide challenging equipment to help develop upper body strength, and our sandpit and separate mud pit allow children to freely explore and embrace their playful nature.
