Welcome to Kidsfirst Kindergartens Ilam, a newly-renovated establishment located in the heart of Ilam, Christchurch. Nestled amongst the trees at the rear of Ryeland Reserve, our kindergarten offers a beautiful and serene environment for children aged 2 – 5 years to explore and engage in a range of play experiences.

Inside our kindergarten, children will find various areas set up to cater to their different interests and developmental needs. They can choose from a wide range of resources and equipment, including quiet, creative, and imaginative play areas. Learning occurs at each child's pace, allowing them to develop at their own speed.

Outside, our spacious backyard is a haven for physical growth and development. With green grass, barked areas, and gardens, children have ample space to run, jump, and play. Our specially designed equipment encourages children to use real resources such as saws, hammers, and gardening equipment, teaching them about risk management and making safe choices.

At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Ilam, we pride ourselves on providing a well-resourced and child-centered environment. Our kindergarten offers plenty of opportunities for children to try new things, inspire curiosity, and develop creativity through play. We have strong connections with the wider educational community, particularly with local primary schools, to support a smooth transition to school when the time comes.

We recommend enrolling initially for at least two full days, gradually building up to five days at your child's pace. This allows our teachers to get to know your child and build a strong relationship, while also providing consistency in supporting their learning.
