About the Business
Welcome to Wynn Williams, a prestigious establishment located at 47 Hereford Street in Christchurch, New Zealand. As a leading law firm, we are dedicated to providing exceptional legal services and have been recognized as finalists in multiple categories at the 2023 NZ Law Awards. In addition, we are honored to be named a finalist for Employer of Choice, a testament to our commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
At Wynn Williams, we believe in actively supporting our community. We were proud sponsors of Out to Lunch! Pride In Business, an event that took place during the Winter Pride Festival in Queenstown. This gathering brought together over 100 business professionals to discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Recent milestones in New Zealand's legal landscape have been achieved, including the Government's successful reform of the resource management system. The Natural and Built Environment Act (NBEA) and the Spatial Planning Act (SPA) have been given Royal Assent on 23 August 2023, marking a significant step forward.
We take workplace safety and well-being seriously. It is our firm belief that all employees should be able to work in an environment free from any form of abuse or harassment. We condemn all types of harassment, including sexual harassment, and expect our employees to respect the rights of their colleagues. As an employer, we are committed to fostering a culture that does not tolerate any form of harassment.
We are proud to be recognized as a 5 Star Employer of Choice by NZ Lawyer for the second consecutive year. This accolade reflects our ongoing efforts to create a positive and supportive work environment for our team.
The recent reports presented by the Environment Committee on the Natural and Built Environment Bill (NBE Bill) and the Spatial Planning Bill have significant implications for New Zealand's environmental laws. To keep you informed, we have highlighted five key takeaways from the Committee's report on the NBE Bill.
In response to the need for extended time to address personal grievances related to sexual harassment, the Employment Relations (Extended Time for Personal Grievance for Sexual Harassment) Amendment Act has been enacted. This amendment acknowledges the time it takes for victims of sexual misconduct to process their experiences and feel comfortable enough to raise concerns. The timeframe for raising a personal grievance involving allegations of sexual harassment is now 12 months.
For investors seeking valuable insights, our expert Andrew Logie recommends engaging in open and honest conversations with prospective or existing tenants in the coming months.

Reviews
"Expensive with no results"
"I used David Haigh of Wynn Williams in a land purchase recently. He took ten days to do ‘due diligence’ and then told me there were ‘no issues’ with the title. I subsequently found out that there is actually a restrictive covenant on the land I purchased that Mr Haigh had not told me about. He and his firm have been unapologetic and unrepentant about this, and have claimed that I am a ‘sophisticated investor’ and therefore did not need to be told. Beware. If Wynn Williams decides you are ‘sophisticated’ who knows what basic due diligence they will not bother with. I found out the hard way."
"They get on with it BUT they charge like a wounded bull"
"Looks nice from outside. Didn't actually go in there!"
"Lawyers getting results."
