Minden Lookout is now more accessible to families with children, featuring a multi-level structure with open-air and covered areas. This public establishment is equipped with picnic tables and circular metal maps displaying nearby islands and locations. The Minden Lookout was handed over to the Tauranga County Council by the Omokoroa-Te Puna Lions Club on October 28th, 1978. It took this dedicated club 21 months to construct the lookout, with members committing nearly 2000 hours of voluntary work to complete the project.
