Exciting news! We have recently made special arrangements with the University of Waikato and will be moving to our new premises at 204 Hillcrest Road, Hillcrest Hamilton as of 24 July. This collaboration with the University will further enhance our services and provide a state-of-the-art facility for our clients.

At The Psychology Centre, we understand the importance of mental health support. In addition to our services, we also recommend the 1737 mental health helpline, available 24/7. Simply text or call 1737 to speak with a trained counselor at any time.

Our clinic is proudly supported by the Waikato District Health Board (WDHB) and offers comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment for clients throughout the Waikato region. Our team consists of qualified and highly experienced clinicians, with additional support from Intern Psychologists from the University of Waikato through our training center.

Supervisors at our center are available to provide clinical supervision for qualified clinicians in the community. We also work with clinical psychology students, professionals, and clinicians from other medical and mental health disciplines, providing a collaborative approach to mental health care.

Our clinic offers a range of psychological assessment and treatment programs, including referrals from The Waikato DHB (AMS & ICAMHS), other medical practitioners, specific program affiliates, or self-referral to our qualified staff. We also provide mentoring and supervision for senior graduate students enrolled in the University of Waikato Clinical Psychology Postgraduate Diploma Program.

Led by our Director, Josh, who joined TPC in 2012 and became the Director in 2015, our team is dedicated to providing high-quality care. Josh brings a wealth of experience, having worked with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health concerns. He has also worked in forensic psychology in both New Zealand and the US.

Our clinical team includes Jayne, who specializes in supporting the Rainbow community and working with trauma-related problems. Dawn, on the other hand, focuses on child development, disability, and child and adolescent mental health. Tracey is passionate about adult psychotherapy, particularly anxiety disorders and emotion regulation skills. Julia specializes in addressing emotion regulation difficulties and trauma, utilizing DBT-based treatments.
