About the Business
Welcome to Ngā Kākano Foundation Family Health Services medical centre, located at 50 Jellicoe Street in Te Puke, New Zealand. As an establishment focused on health, we are a point of interest in the community, providing a range of health and social services to Whānau in the Te Puke community. Our goal is to break down the barriers to accessing healthcare for everyone in our community.
One of the services we offer is childhood immunizations. Did you know that we can do all your child's immunizations in our clinic? Immunizations are crucial to ensure your child is fully protected against various diseases. It takes a few months and repeated doses of vaccines for your little one to be fully immunized.
Some of the diseases that vaccinations will help protect your child against include diptheria, tetanus, polio, whooping cough (pertussis), pneumococcal, rotavirus, haemophilus influenzae type b, measles, mumps, rubella, and chicken pox (varicella). Vaccinations are especially important for highly contagious diseases like measles, which can lead to serious complications even in healthy kids.
At Ngā Kākano Foundation Family Health Services & Medical Practice, we offer various sections on our website for easy access. Existing Nga Kākano Patients can make appointments, request repeat prescriptions, access our after-hours clinic, or get referrals for the services we provide.
We are proud to have received funding from the Roy & Mary McGowan fund administered through Acorn Foundation to create a vibrant rangatahi mural in Te Puke. This project has added a splash of color to our building and allowed our rangatahi to contribute to their town in a constructive way. The lead artist, Kalib Wallace of Aerosoul World, designed and supervised the rangatahi throughout the process, resulting in a beautiful mural that brings our wall to life.
Our rangatahi team also had the honor of attending the 20th birthday celebrations of Acorn Foundation, where our mural was featured in a visually dynamic exhibition in Tauranga. We are grateful to the Acorn team and the Roy and Mary McGowan fund for making our mural possible, as well as to our rangatahi and Kalib Wallace for their talent and hard work.
At Ngā Kākano Foundation, our mission is to make health services accessible to all members of our community. We provide total care for your whānau with our dedicated team of doctors and nurses. We also offer support for pēpi to give our mokopuna the best start in life, as well as a recovery-orientated drug and alcohol service with early intervention.
Additionally, our facilitators use traditional rongoā to make products used in Mirimiri treatments, and we provide opportunities for our Kaumātua and Kuia to remain active and independent. We are committed to supporting Whānau and providing education on respiratory conditions.
You can find us at 50 Jellicoe Street in Te Puke, with free parking available on Commerce Street. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm, with after-hours service available from Monday to Friday from 5.00pm to 10.00pm, and on weekends from 8.00am to 8.00pm.

"I know there is a shortage of doctors, but OMG that Dr Colin is terrible, happy enough guy but he didn't take my health issues seriously at all which is so unprofessional, he gave me no indications of what could be the problem and then pretty much brushed it off as poor diet, I wouldn't recommend this doctor at all. I ended up going to the A&E doctor to get the answers I was looking for. The phone/video call doctor on the other hand is always good, the reception staff are very nice, the centre has lots of off street parking and a large waiting room. 5 stars if not for the doctor, maybe he was just an on call doctor?"
