Welcome to Busy Bees Judsons Road, a unique and special institution located in Woodend, New Zealand. We understand that choosing the right center for your child's education and care is a big decision, which is why we value every child and see them as a precious taonga (treasure).

Our modern center is well-maintained and designed to inspire inquisitive minds and provide physical challenges for children of all ages. Both our indoor and outdoor environments are equipped with natural resources and equipment to stimulate learning and exploration. With expansive grass play areas, our children have plenty of space to connect with nature in a safe environment. From feeling the texture of fresh grass between their toes to discovering little garden friends, our babies and preschoolers can engage in outdoor activities that encourage curiosity, learning, and fun!

We have 4 separate rooms, each catering to a specific age group and stage of play and development. Our passionate and caring teaching team is committed to building strong relationships with the children and their families. We believe in collaboration and work closely with the community to extend our children's learning and ensure consistency between home and our center. Our teachers are dedicated and enthusiastic, constantly encouraged to show initiative, creativity, sensitivity, and to work to the best of their ability.

At Busy Bees Judsons Road, we prioritize strong relationships and create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our friendly team fosters open communication, love, kindness, and empathy. We believe in working together with parents, caregivers, and teachers to support each child's unique development. In addition to our focus on relationships, we also place emphasis on building strong community connections. We actively engage with the local Woodend community, promoting compassion and social responsibility in our children. Through tuakana-teina relationships, where older children nurture younger ones, we promote empathy, leadership, and a supportive learning environment for all.

Nutrition is an important aspect of our center, and our in-house cook provides freshly made meals for children each day. We follow Nourish menus and recipes based on the New Zealand Heart Foundation Tohu Manawa Ora | Healthy Heart Award for Early Learning Centres. We believe that nourishing food fuels children to thrive physically and mentally, while also fostering a sense of community during mealtimes. Our teachers also engage children in regular baking activities, allowing them to develop food preparation skills, fine motor movements, and independence.

As an institution, we are committed to following the aspirations of the New Zealand National ECE Curriculum, Te Whāriki. We work in partnership with parents, whānau, and the community to empower children as lifelong learners. We understand that the first five years of a child's life are incredibly significant and influential, and we are dedicated to providing a curriculum that supports their growth and development.
