Our journey began with a passion for cars and a realization of the need for reliable and cost-effective access to Japanese vehicles and automotive parts in New Zealand. Drawing from our own importing experiences, we have designed Empire Imports to offer an efficient and streamlined service, free from any flaws we encountered in the past.

At Empire Imports, our goal is to make the process of purchasing vehicles or automotive parts from Japan as easy, stress-free, and affordable as possible for our customers. Whether you want to buy a vehicle, part, or anything else from Japan and get it back to New Zealand, we can assist you throughout the entire process.

Here's how it works: we will bid on products from Japan on your behalf. If you are successful, we will handle all communication with the buyer, organize payment, arrange delivery to our depot in Japan, and take care of all logistics to get your product safely to New Zealand.

To help you get started, we provide useful links and recommendations for places to find things to buy on our FAQ page. You can then use our calculator and order form to estimate the costs involved in your purchase. Simply select the type of item you are interested in, enter the bid price in yen, and the calculator will show you the overall price in New Zealandn dollars.

Once you have decided on a bid price, fill out the form on our website to begin the purchasing process. After receiving the completed form and the deposit, we will bid on your behalf. If the bid is not successful, we will refund you within 24 hours.

To secure your purchase, please deposit the item's bid price and successful bid fee into our account, using your name as a reference. If you win the auction, you will be notified. Once your part has been added to our system in Japan, we will confirm the local freight cost and send you an invoice with the total breakdown of costs. Your deposit amount will be credited to the invoice, and the remaining amount will be due the following day. Once the container arrives in New Zealand, you can either pick up your goods from the freight company in Auckland or have them sent to you for an additional fee.

Please note that we charge a 20% commission on each item (with a minimum fee of $25) and a flat rate fee based on the size of the item. This ensures fair pricing and covers the costs associated with shipping.

Containers come by sea, so shipping times may be longer compared to air shipping. We aim to ship a container every 3-5 months or as soon as it fills up. The more parts you buy, the faster the containers will arrive!

If you are looking for new parts from any manufacturer in Japan, we can assist you as well. Simply send us an email with the part you are looking for and, if possible, the part number.

To ease your worries, we take care of any GST, customs, duties, or taxes on your behalf. These costs are included in the price we charge, so you can shop with peace of mind.

Please note that shipping costs are determined by the volume of the container, so the size of the items you purchase will affect the shipping fees.
