Hei Hei Health Centre 18 Wycola Avenue, Hei Hei, Christchurch, Canterbury 8042
About the Business
Welcome to Hei Hei Health Centre, located at 18 Wycola Avenue in Christchurch, New Zealand. As an establishment dedicated to health and well-being, we strive to provide exceptional care and support to our patients.
In light of the current situation with Covid-19, we want to assure you that your safety is our top priority. As per the directive from the authorities, we are now at LEVEL FOUR and will not be seeing patients in person unless they have first had a telehealth consultation. We understand that this may be an inconvenience, but it is necessary to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.
With the recent news of the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in New Zealand, we have been receiving numerous inquiries about both Covid-19 and the flu vaccine. Please note that the flu vaccine will be available from 1st April this year, and we will notify you as soon as it comes into stock. Immunizing the whole family, especially children, is crucial in preventing the spread of influenza in our community. While the flu vaccine does not provide protection against Covid-19, it does reduce the risk of getting sick and helps alleviate concerns during this potentially stressful period. Additionally, increased immunization rates can alleviate the strain on hospital resources in case of a surge in coronavirus cases.
It is important to stay informed amidst the media frenzy surrounding the new virus. While the chances of it becoming a significant issue are low, we understand the public concern. Therefore, we have gathered some information to help you navigate through the confusion and make informed decisions about your health.
At Hei Hei Health Centre, we are committed to providing comprehensive care to our diverse community. We have been working diligently on our new Maori Health Plan to ensure that we address the specific needs and concerns of our Maori patients. Our goal is to provide culturally sensitive and effective healthcare services to promote overall well-being.
In recent news, a study has suggested a potential association between a popular class of medication and an increased risk of lung cancer. We want to emphasize that while the risk is real, it is very small. If you are currently taking these medications, please continue to do so. Abruptly stopping them can be dangerous. If you have any concerns or questions, we strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment with us. It is important to discuss any changes to your medication regimen with a healthcare professional.
Hei Hei Health Centre is open every working day from 9am to 5pm to serve your healthcare needs. Please note that we are closed on weekends, public holidays, and between Christmas and New Year. To find out the working hours of individual staff members, please visit our staff page on our website.
We take great pride in supporting our local community and being an integral part of its well-being. Your health and satisfaction are of utmost importance to us, and we are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care possible.

Reviews
"Good medical center , sometimes hard to get a booking for the following day ."
"This health center has the most ignorant and rude doctor in NZ. rob seddon-smith. Awful doctor but worse person. I would like to review with 0 star. Please remember as per rob seddon smith website description. He does almost no exercise, eats pies from the dairy and is very fond of chocolate."
"I had a horrible experience with "doctor" rob-seddon smith and his unprofessional and rude staff. I have received a wrong diagnostic , bad procedure and discrimination from this person and his staff. It is unacceptable that this kind of "person" practise medicine in NZ or any country. I have reported him to HDC. I suggest to the Hei Hei Community and the Sumner community to avoid this “doctor” and his "health" centres . Please note rob seddon smith has already many issues for his unprofessional and unethical way to work. You can do a research in Google about him and you will find news about his super computer in the main newspapers in NZ."
"If only I have another choice to move to a different health clinic I would. Receptionist so rude and the first time I heard they don’t take booking til the next day so you have to ring again the next day to book an appointment and mind you you will have to pay to read the result when you already have paid when you spoke to them the first time to get the test so frustrating that I have to leave a review"
"The worst medical practice in New Zealand in my experience. Receptionist lady (old one) is most unhelpful and mis-fit for this job and has major lack of empathy. Doctors have no personal interest in patient’s life. They do not even try to draw a holistic picture... NOT RECOMMENDED."
