Originally formed by the Donaldsons and Gibsons families, Westimber has a rich history and was purchased by the next generation in October 2014. Our sawmill, based at Ngahere on the West Coast, manufactures all of the timber for our various products and supplies stock to our Christchurch yard for direct sales to the public.

When it comes to appearance, we offer premium grades of timber. Clears 1 is completely knot-free with no defects, while Clears 2 may have knots on one face but still maintains the high quality of Clears 1 on the other face and edges.

Our core product is the Stress-Tested Verified Structural Framing timber known as SG8. As a Licensed Producer under the Verified Timber quality assurance program, we are certified to produce SG6 & SG8 grades, ensuring the highest standards for your construction projects.

You can choose from a grooved grip-tread profile with a Bandsawn face or a smooth-face on both sides. We can also custom-machine your own profile/size to suit your specific needs.
