Hope Op Shop 111 East Belt, Rangiora, Canterbury 7400
About the Business
Welcome to Hope Op Shop, a unique establishment located at 111 East Belt, Rangiora, New Zealand. As an institution that provides support for individuals and families in need, we are here to offer a helping hand to anyone who requires extra assistance, regardless of their circumstances. Our services are not means tested, meaning that we are committed to supporting everyone who seeks our help, whether it be due to redundancy, illness, benefit delays, or any other reason.
At Hope Op Shop, our aim is to offer a professional, friendly, easily accessible, and affordable service. We strive to come alongside each person, supporting them as they embark on a journey towards greater wholeness, healing, and fulfillment. Our approach is rooted in respect and mindfulness of each individual's needs, beliefs, and values. We also value collaboration with health practitioners and other social services in our local and wider community, working together to make a positive impact on individuals, families, couples, children, and young people.
When you visit our Opportunity Shop, you'll discover a treasure trove of unique items. We have a wide range of clothing, furniture, and various other goods available for purchase. Whether you're looking for something special or simply want to donate an unwanted or unloved item, we welcome you to come and explore our shop. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9.00am to 3.30pm, and Thursday from 9.00am to 1.30pm. Don't forget to follow us on Facebook for updates on sales and specials!
In addition to our shop, we also have a working garden that serves as a place of connection and friendship within our community. This garden provides a safe space where individuals can gain new skills and build confidence. We grow fresh produce, which we use in our food parcels and community meals. Every Wednesday from 11.30am to 6.30pm, you can pick up quality fruit and vegetable boxes at cost price from Rangiora Baptist Church, thanks to our Hope Community Trust.
Our dedicated team of Community Support Workers ensures that every person who seeks our help is listened to, treated with dignity, and given as much support as possible. They offer advocacy and budgeting services, as well as collaborate and make referrals to other organizations if necessary. Our support workers journey with individuals until a natural conclusion is reached, making sure that hope is restored in their lives.
We also invite you to join us for Community Kai, a weekly gathering on Wednesday evenings at 5.45pm. Individuals and Whānau are welcome to enjoy a two-course meal for a gold coin donation. No bookings are required – just come and join us for a delicious meal and a sense of community.
For the men in our community, we offer a special connection at our Men's Breakfast. Every week, starting from 8.00am with breakfast served at 8.30am, men can come together at Rangiora Baptist Church for a cooked breakfast and a chance to connect with others.
At Hope Op Shop, our ultimate goal is to restore hope in individuals and families by recognizing and addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We achieve this through our various services, including our Counselling Centre, Support Workers, and Community Garden. You can find our Counselling Centre and Support Workers at 115 East Belt, Rangiora, and our Op Shop at 113 East Belt, Rangiora.
