We encourage children to try new foods, and if they are not keen on their lunch, we always have a sandwich option available.

Hydration is essential, and at Young Petals, water is readily accessible throughout the day. It is served with each meal, and we encourage children to pour their own drinks, promoting independence and responsibility.

At our centre, we implement the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum – Te Whāriki. This curriculum is based on four principles of learning: Empowerment, Holistic Development, Family & Community, and Relationships. These principles form the foundation of our planning, aiming to build children's confidence, foster positive relationships, and meet each child's individual needs.

Our Early Childhood Programme is based on "Foundations for Learning," ensuring that all learning experiences provided further develop and extend children's learning, preparing them for their next level of education. We have various key practices in place to support this, creating a comprehensive and enriching program for our young learners.
