Welcome to The Y Ellerslie Early Learning Centre, located at 46A Michaels Avenue, Auckland. Our establishment is not just a typical childcare center; we strive to provide a wide range of learning opportunities for our children. Our focus extends beyond the walls of our center and into the local community, where our children engage in activities such as gymnastics at the rec center, local walks through the reserve, and visits to our community hub and library.

At The Y Ellerslie, we have a team of dedicated educators who create an interactive, age-appropriate, stimulating, and safe environment for both our tamariki (children) and their whanau (family). We strongly believe that family and community inclusion play a vital role in every child's development. Our teachers actively communicate with our whanau, both verbally and through Story Park, to build long-lasting relationships based on trust and unity.

Following the Te Whariki Early Childhood Curriculum set by the Ministry of Education, our early childhood curriculum aims to foster competent and confident learners who are healthy in mind, body, and spirit. We also emphasize the importance of children realizing their valuable contributions to society.

Our center is surrounded by nature, both inside and outside. Situated within a large park space with diverse landscapes, we offer easy access to the wider world. Our facility includes an arts and craft area, a variety of books, and a block space for children to explore and discover what they have seen outside. Additionally, our home corner encourages free-play and role-play, allowing children to engage in activities such as stirring, filling, emptying, pouring, shaking, and trying on and taking off items.

Ellerslie boasts a range of play areas, including playing fields and wide-open spaces. We also provide access to the recreation center/gym for up to three sessions a week, led by our fully trained team of instructors.

As a fully licensed childcare and education facility under the Ministry of Education, our early learning centers undergo regular audits and accreditation.

Our staff members are not only fully trained and professionally qualified but also committed to ongoing personal development. We believe in providing the best care and education for our children.

As part of YMCA North, we are proud to be Aotearoa's first and only accredited organization through the New Zealandn Childhood Foundation (ACF) as a child-safe organization.
