"This is probably an unusual review in that I'm rating 1 star for the manicure I received and 4 stars for the awesome service recovery from the management at Five Star Nails. I was a walk-in on the 4th of June wanting a gel manicure. The salon was quite busy, but I was happy to wait and was eventually served by a lovely lady, though she seemed a bit rushed. All went well with my manicure and it looked great once it was done. But within a few days I had a large chip on one nail and by just over a week I had large chunks of polish flaking off several nails. In my experience - this is not normal for gel polish, which usually grows out with the nail, or gets soaked off when it's time for a new manicure. I emailed Five Star Nails with photos and a detailed account my experience. I requested a refund as the service I paid for was not up to expected standards. I was met with a quick, professional response - a refund was agreed to by management and came through within 24 hours. I think it says a lot about a business when something goes wrong and their response is to take the customer seriously and provide a fair resolution immediately. It shows integrity and makes them worthy of a second chance :) ."
