Welcome to Bucklands Beach Kindergarten, located at 8 Oliver Road in Auckland, New Zealand. We are an establishment that is not only a point of interest but also a school, providing a nurturing and enriching environment for young children.

At Bucklands Beach Kindergarten, we are proud of our dedicated teaching team, amazing learning environment, and fantastic ready for school program. Our curriculum is designed to cater to the interests and talents of every child, whether they are budding scientists, mathematicians, artists, or storytellers. We encourage children to explore their passions and share them with others. With mixed age groups ranging from two to five years old, our children have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and learn from and alongside each other in meaningful and authentic ways. We especially celebrate the curiosity and zest for life that our two-year-olds bring to our kindergarten.

Our outdoor area is truly amazing, providing endless opportunities for children's imaginations to soar. From making magic potions to intrepid bug hunts, our beautiful outdoor space allows children to become brave explorers discovering new magical lands and creatures.

Our teaching team consists of five enthusiastic and fun-loving teachers who are committed to providing experiences that encourage all of our children to be involved, discover new interests and talents, and have a go. We consider it a privilege to teach young children and cherish the special moments we have with them on a daily basis. We work in partnership with parents and whanau to meet their individual aspirations for their child. Our kaiako are skilled in implementing the Incredible Years Teacher Programme, which supports young children with self-regulation and their social, emotional, and academic competence.

Friendships are an important part of childhood, and at Bucklands Beach Kindergarten, we foster flourishing friendships. We believe that friendships bring happiness and magic to our lives. We love to watch our tamariki (children) flourish in friendship making, enhancing their social skills, self-esteem, confidence, and overall happiness. Our kindergarten aims to provide a home away from home where relationships are vital, and children know that this is their place. We recognize remarkable and special friendships and promote an inclusive environment. To encourage and support children in finding friends to play with, we have recently introduced our "care corner."

Our indoor spaces are designed to support various areas of our curriculum. Whether it's cutting, molding, dancing, reading, or drawing, our indoor environment provides a place for play that stimulates learning. We have separate spaces for different types of play, allowing children to engage in both solitary and group play.

Transitioning to school can be a scary time for children and parents alike. At Bucklands Beach Kindergarten, we offer a ready for school program for our four and a half-year-olds. These groups help children develop the confidence and skills needed to support and empower them as they head off to school.

At Bucklands Beach Kindergarten, teachers actively promote positive and inclusive social relationships among children and partnership relationships with families. Children and their whānau (extended family) have a strong sense of belonging and wellbeing in our kindergarten. A notable feature of children's learning is the high level of creativity, thoughtful presentation of art materials, and skilled support by our teachers in this area.

Our kindergarten operates from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm, and our office hours are from 8 am to 4.45 pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
