About the Business
Welcome to the Naval Community Childcare Centre, located at Stanley Bay, Calliope Road, 65 in New Zealand. Our establishment is a point of interest that aims to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children in the community.
At the Naval Community Childcare Centre, we understand the importance of growing connections and fostering a sense of community. We believe that children thrive when they feel connected to their surroundings and the people around them. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children can build relationships and develop social skills.
In addition to providing quality childcare services, we also believe in preparing children for unexpected situations. We engage in disaster preparation exercises that help children understand the importance of being prepared and staying safe during emergencies. These exercises include laser simulation tests that simulate shoot-don't shoot scenarios, ensuring that children learn how to make quick and informed decisions.
Furthermore, we are proud to be part of the Defence recognition awards, where our institution has been recognized for our involvement in a Great Barrier rescue mission. This recognition highlights our commitment to serving our community and making a positive impact.
We are also excited to announce that the NZ Navy will be participating in a major South East Asia exercise. This exercise provides our personnel with valuable training opportunities and allows them to showcase their skills on an international level.
At the Naval Community Childcare Centre, we believe in supporting our military personnel in their various endeavors. We are proud to share that the NZ Navy personnel have played a significant role in a Middle East drug bust and have mobilized for the largest-ever Exercise Talisman Sabre.
In terms of our facilities, we have recently consolidated our military facilities in Dunedin into one building, providing a more streamlined and efficient experience for our personnel.
The Coromandel terrain has also proven to be invaluable for the training of our maritime helicopter crew. The diverse landscape allows our crew to develop their skills and adapt to different scenarios, ensuring they are well-prepared for any situation they may encounter.
We are also thrilled to highlight the achievements of one of our Wellingtonian engineers, who has forged a path with the Royal New Zealand Navy. Their dedication and expertise contribute to the overall strength and capabilities of our naval force.
As an island nation, maritime security is of utmost importance to us. We recognize that around 90% of our imports and exports are transported by sea, making it crucial to ensure the security of our trade routes. Our Exclusive Economic Zone is one of the largest in the world, and we take pride in protecting our own natural ocean resources, as well as those of our Pacific Island neighbors.
In times of crisis and natural disasters, we are one of the first responders, spearheading the humanitarian response by providing assistance, supplies, and expertise to those in need. Our maritime force consists of highly trained professionals who come from diverse backgrounds but share a strong sense of courage, commitment, comradeship, and integrity.
Our fleet comprises of nine modern and versatile ships, manned by over 2,500 uniformed personnel. These dedicated individuals undertake a wide range of maritime tasks, including combat capabilities, humanitarian aid and disaster relief missions, fishery and border patrols, and support for government agencies.
A career in the Defence Force is unlike anything else. It offers the opportunity to work as part of a tight-knit team, protecting your family, friends, the environment, and your country from harm. By joining us, you become a representative of the New Zealand way of life, wherever you go. It is a deeply fulfilling job that provides a real sense of purpose.
We are proud to highlight the success stories of individuals who have pursued careers in the Navy. For example, Navy skills have served as a springboard for professional degrees, opening up new opportunities for personal and professional growth. We also have stories of Navy personnel taking on tasks in tropical heat in Niue and surreal experiences for the great-grandson of a Gallipoli veteran.
At the Naval Community Childcare Centre, we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, while also supporting our military personnel and their families. We are committed to serving Aotearoa and its diverse communities, and we invite you to join us on this incredible journey.
