About the Business
Welcome to MyKindy Mt Wellington, a unique early childhood educational facility located in the serene neighborhood of Mount Wellington in Auckland, New Zealand. Situated at the base of the mountain, our institution is housed in a beautifully upgraded California farmhouse that seamlessly blends modern facilities with the colonial charm of the original property.
At MyKindy Mt Wellington, we believe in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. Our spacious outdoor play areas offer ample opportunities for exploration, while the presence of established trees provides shade and a sense of tranquility. What sets us apart is our proximity to the lower reaches of Mount Wellington, allowing our staff to organize supervised walking trips to nearby farm areas. Here, children can interact with grazing cows and experience the wonders of nature firsthand.
To ensure the best possible experience for our little ones, we require a minimum enrollment of three days per week. This allows children to form strong relationships with our dedicated staff and their peers, fostering a sense of belonging and support within our close-knit community.
We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to our operating hours when dropping off and collecting your child. We understand that life can get busy, but please be mindful that a late fee may apply if your child is left at the center after closing time.
For any inquiries or further information, please feel free to reach out to us at managermtwellington@mykindy.nz or adminmtwellington@mykindy.nz. We are always here to assist you.
Join us at MyKindy Mt Wellington, where we strive to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment for your child's early education journey.

"This centre, formally Kidstown, was brought by My Kindy in September 2022, and unfortunately the new management has led to almost 100% teacher turnover, (both old teachers and new ones don’t stay long), as well as 3/4 of the families leaving. It was such an amazing centre and nothing needed changing. There are still some good teachers left, but management is terrible and I would think twice about sending my kid here, nor can I see how they can financially stay open. We moved on as we were over the constant rolling door of new staff in an out, as well as blatant disregard from management that anything was wrong when parents voiced their concerns. Look at Junior Junction, Little Moas or Tiny Tuis instead."
"I recently withdrew my son from MyKindy due to a number of issues from a managerial/ownership level. There have been a high number of teacher resignations in a very short period of time. My son experienced a number of different teachers/relievers during his short time at MyKindy and although they were all of a high standard, the inconsistency left him feeling more unsettled. I did not feel confident in the management of MyKindy and would not recommend the centre to other parents."
"Similar to other parents, we have pulled our child recently from the 2-5 age group room. Our experience was initially amazing when the business was KidsTown. After being acquired by MyKindy quality of care gradually decreased. Good young teachers left citing lack of mentorship, then good senior teachers left as well citing lack of support from center management and burn out. There are still good teachers there that try hard, but the culture from the top is fundamentally bad and they're fighting an uphill battle. I would not choose to send my child here while it's still owned by the MyKindy franchise."
"This used to be a really special centre and place for the kids to learn with an amazing community. Unfortunately the new Owners meant this gradually deteriorated. The teachers always cared for the kids and were amazing but have no management support and Owners that wish to take on board no parent feedback or staff feedback. It’s really sad to see people prioritising money over children and staff welfare. The Owners should invest in another sector that would be more befitting of their communication and management style."
"We have sadly had to remove our child after 2.5 years at this centre. Since becoming part of the MyKindy chain, nearly every single amazing teacher has left, the animals are gone and there are no more excursions. There’s a mass exodus of families including nearly 30 who have signed their name to a formal complaint to the Ministry of Education. The well-being and safety of children was not prioritised and we would not recommend enrolling there."
